Nope, just because Morey always chases all-stars the Rockets' name will be thrown around freely. Maybe if Tilman is dumb enough, but don't think so.

 

If CP3 isn't in the deal a third team needs to be involved otherwise we losing all our role players

 

Harden is pushing for this more than anyone. Remember he said, "I know exactly what we need to do."

 

I think no matter what you say/think, this might have some legs, Westbrook is still a big name and Harden's buddy so, it make sense, but imo only if you move CP3 in the deal, otherwise not so much cause having Harden, Russ and CP3 out there together is just impossible, and on both ends.

Was also thinking that since Miami is rumored to be after Westbrook, i wonder if they would be ok in being part of a 3 team trade where they get CP3, the Rockets get Wesbtrook and OKC get's a couple of big expirings from Miami.

Same thing I brought up. CP3 actually makes Miami a contender in the east with a trade like this. If Miami would have signed Cousins this would have been out of the question.

i imagine it would be paul and capela + parts for adams, westbrook and draft picks......they would save money on the tax since capela is cheaper than adams...also, paul's contract is one year shorter and he is actually probably a better player than westbrook even though he's older. better passer, defender, and shooter. Westbrooks contract is worse than pauls...and he is probably viewed as a cancer that few others stars want to play with, so there aren't many teams who would be will to trade for him since his best years are behind him.

 

I would not get your hopes up, because Heat and knicks have the assets. Rockets dont. Cp3 and Butler could make them playoff bound. But why would Heat do rockets any favors??? You have to get Harden convincing westbrook to come here, and then getting heat involved for paul if there interested.

What do we have to lose we aren't going to the finals as constructed anyway might as well go down swinging...I don't think it'll work with Harden and Russ but who cares at this point

 

The potential rationale here... if you believe CP3 is declining (which it’s hard not to) the window from here is 1, at best 2 years. Harden-Westbrook gives you ostensibly a 4 year window.

Maybe we can be a 3rd team to help move him and get that solid piece we’re missing.

I don’t see how we do this without moving CP3 and that’s just for salary. It’d take 1 or 2 firsts just to move his contract.
