you hear about failed trades all the time. quit playing dumb and acting like this is a rare occurrence. You dont hear them because you are focused on the rockets. He is correct above. He mentioned nothing specific. He was asked a question. He answered it .

Absolutely. Why pay that much for a position that is no longer relevant. Especially for someone who doesn't stretch the floor.

Maybe the 'we were so close to x y z happening' is getting tiresome to some?

There is a spectrum to how close one can get.

Even if that was true, and since I’m assuming you don’t closely follow the actions of every GM in basketball, I’m not sure that it is.... why on earth does it matter? It hurts no one.

Also goes to show that this team IS ready to move Capela. And likely this trade would be part of the mechanism/process that would help put the team in better position to go after Jimmy Butler.

 

Again, I think @Clutch's read is on point. Keep in mind the Celtics traded away Baynes to Phoenix.

Celtics are definitely up to something with their cap space.

 

It's definitely interesting. I would love to take a peek into Morey's phone logs and text messages right about now.

p.s. this whole thread should be about this. It should be speculation on what possible moves Morey is considering and who he is considering moving and how that could make us better. Instead so many of you haters just twist it in to yet another way to complain about something.

But why trading Capela? ¿? I get it if is neccesary to get Butler (not if also includes Gordon), but let's not act like he's not a great player sealed at a great contract. I mean, if you want me to give you Capela, you're gonna have to give me A LOT.

 

I’m with you. Get him shooting threes and working on handles. The skill set is there.
