If the Rockets had kept Lou Will, Montrezl, & Bev instead of trading for CP3

Lou also probably would not have signed that very team friendly extension here like he did with LAC.

Just to put last night's game in context, the Rockets will never be underrated in the GSW's eyes. We live in their minds free of rent. Lou is fully capable of taking advantage of being underrated which is why the coach ascribes the "resilient" identity to his team. But he's not going to put us over the top against the same team that will play with some edge and fear.

    it's just one game.
i'd still trade for CP3. if we could keep one of them that'd be nice. it is what it is.

I'm listening to today's First Take convo on KD and it just highlights what kind of luxury he has in his mind to just relax in a playoff game.

Obviously had we not made the CP3 trade our roster would look drastically different ... and you can't just plug in the 3 guys .

Buuuuut , I think what OP suggests are fun little experiments

I'll make it even crazier .

Let's say rivers still happens .

We use Dekker and the other random assets along with our package of knight (lol) to pull off the temple and green trade that tilman says we got screwed out of .

    Gordon/ rivers
    Harden/ Williams
    House / temple
    PJ / green
    Clint / Harrell

Holy **** lol . We would put up 140 a game

Yeah I would take this over our current roster. Its 100% impossible for this to have happened though . I think at one point we would have had like 20 players on our roster and definitely breaking some cap rules lol .

Me too. Lou Williams is a more reliable scorer. You never know what EG is going to give you.

What your said was "the salary cap would not have allowed us to keep the players we traded away". Considering they traded those three for Paul, my comment was spot on. They would not have had Paul without trading those three. Thus your salary cap comment doesn't apply.

If we kept those guys we too could be 8th seed and jagging one freak victory at Oracle, before going on to lose the serirs 4-1.

    Happy days.

    IF YOU WANT CHRIS PAUL.
    Which I clearly stated here:

“ If you don’t want to do the trade yea we could have kept those players. Both you can’t do both.”

If you wanted Paul you had to salary dump.

Anybody else really annoyed with Beverly's antics? The more I watch him as a non-fan of his team, the more he annoys me. Like the dude at the Y that can't really play but tries to make up for it by being in everyone's grill; pushing and shoving.

Are you serious ... ? When Beverly was our starting point guard, it was the reason Harden ran out of gas and basically fainted against the spurs.

Beverly is not a starting point guard (though he brings that annoying-ness that most teams need), and Harrell needed time and usage rate to finally blossom to be the super-sub he is. Lou has always been a quality "professional scorer" and finally has the usage rate he needs to get going.

It's the whole convo of why the Celtics are under-achieving so much this year. They have way too many talented players who need the ball in their hands a ton (usage rate) to really get going and utilize their strengths. When you have those guys waiting around for spot-ups, it's hard for them to catch their rhythm

Morey really wanted to keep Trez. Such a shame.
