What will it realistically take for the Rockets to rid themselves of Anderson?

It is possible. I believe it will take least two future firsts. If it's a legitimate trade and not just a contract dump/money exchange, someone useful, but not fundamentally a cog like Gordon or Ariza can go(Both guys are defensive sieves at this point, Houston should aim to have one bad defender - Harden - in the rotation if they want to seriously compete for a title.)

Any precedent for such awful contract dumps? Lin was making relatively more(cap jump) in his last couple years of his deal, but only like the current equivalent of ~$15 mil. He was a league average player and it took a first rounder.

Having Anderson on this team is not hurting the team.

Paying to get rid of him is akin to chopping off your hand to deal with a blister on your finger.

just calm down anderson is a perfect player for our system...he is just in a bit of shooting slump...even curry and thompson went through that last year shooting 20 something % on 3s for around 10 games stretch or something...

According to reports two first rounders were asked by team/s (i think they said Sacramento and Brooklyn) last summer, meanwhile the Nets agreed to take on Carroll and his 2 year deal (which is 15M for this and next season) for the Raptors 1st rounder and a 2nd rounder. Next summer Ryan's contract will be a 2 year deal at 20M so, not that different. You'll have also to find a team with cap space and willing to use it to absorb a bad contract instead of signing someone they like so...i've a felling it won't be easy again, but if Lebron or George is coming, you just do everything you can to make it happen, even overpay to unload Anderson, which probably means throwing in two 1st rounders.

He goes no where until LeBron is signed somewhere

How much do we have to pay to get rid of our 6’10 starting 4 that’s also one of the best shooters in the league?

    What a ridiculous premise.

That can't play a lick of defense and wasn't on the floor for 3/4 of the game last night because he can't guard anyone.

I hate beating up on players and I like Ryno personally but facts are facts. Btw did you catch the okc game? There's no way IN HELL we can keep him on melo... he'll average 30 a game

2 1sts as of right now.

But take into account, he becomes less hard to trade up until his final year. He may be valuable after next season.

Well, we can not Amnesty Ryan as it is not inlcuded in the most recent CBA.

    Basketball's Amnesty Clause (July 23, 2017)
The rule would allow NBA teams to dump players with enormous contracts.

Wit that said, our best hope is for Chris Paul to chew his ass out when he F*cks up.

Chris Paul is one of those players that hates losing more than he likes winning.
When players slack off or make mistakes, Chris Paul has been know to chew them out relentlessly.
    The man hates losing.
This is one reason some players got got annoyed with Chris Paul and didn't want to play with him.

Before anyone Criticizes Chris for this personality trait, this characteristic was one shared with guys like Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Isiah Thomas and Kobe Bryant. Larry Bird would slice your ass up and fillet it that is what it took to win a game. These guys were win all all cost.

This is one reason I loved the Chris Paul trade.
Guys know they have to be on their toes and work on their game or they know they will get their asses chewed out.
I know the Clippers have injury issues, but their is another reason the Clippers lost a lot of games, and it is because could let up on their game.

Chris Paul's personality and character is the most important asset the Rockets have.
I would argue that Chris Paul's character, which is his hatred of losing and passion for winning is even more important than his talent and passing ability for the Rockets championship hopes.
Chris forces his teammates to become better players.

    In summary:
If Ryan makes mistakes or slacks off, he will get chewed out by Chris Paul, and if Ryan does not step up his game, then he will get benched.

It's more about the situation in the end, in the post he can be solid most of the times, the problem is when he has to defend on the perimeter and when he plays the 5, which are the situations we're facing most of times. He's just not fast enough to stay with smaller guys and to rotate/switch, and other teams will abuse us putting him in every single pick & roll and play like Boston and the Lakers did in the last games, everytime this happens Mike will be forced to bench him like he did yesterday and other times this season. Add the fact that at home his % are sub par and the situation is not going to cut it going forward.
