Look John, we're going to ease him in. He hasn't played football in almost a year ok. We're going to go slow. Probably won't see him until the Colts. Kendall Lamm is our starting LT. (cut to post game) Brian: Bill, prior to this game you said Duane wouldn't play until the Colts game, but on the second drive of the game he was in there at LT and played the rest of the game. What changed? Why wasn't he the starter for the first drive? OBrien: Doesn't matter Brian, AFC South champ 2 years in a row!
Spoiler I hope they deactivate him on game day the rest of the season and then he can holdout again and then we can repeat the process for the next 2 years. ...or if they can get a 3 or higher, that's fine too. **** that guy.
Like making a trade for a starting (and soon, elite starting) tackle. Without giving up anything in return.
Other than “revenge” for holding out. I don’t know why so many of y’all don’t want him. He’s still a much better option than anyone at his position and makes our team better.
I was down for duane holding out for preseason but then it became more, even 3 games is fine. Then it was Rick give him what he wants and help out deshaun or trade him the f' away. Now that he's back, it's water under the pseudo reliant bridge. Why wouldn't I want him to protect a shining star in Watson. You have one less revolving door with Duane in there. Duane now can help Filo, so filo becomes a revolving door that only opens half way. Slide the protection to deal with the right side of the line.
Good!! Watson needs all of the help he can get. This was expected but fantastic news nonetheless. In: Kevin Johnson, Duane Brown. I like the sound of that.
[Premium Post] My goodness he looks stupid for holding out. It got him nothing financially, ruined his reputation, and put distance between himself and his teammates. Dude got steamrolled by McNair. Amateur businessman goes up against professional businessman and gets spanked. A cautionary tale for future athletes' decision-making. GOOD DAY
