Actually I don't have it. I'm going to sample some songs now though. I always meant to check it out, and this thread jogged my memory. I'll probably check out the Frogs too now. Thanks for the offer.

Yeah, Baz is definitely a mother****ing mother****er. He's a problem child, who's spent his life on trial, and walked an endless mile.

Imagine being underwater and listening to 1000 CDs of the song Drown being played almost simultaneously (maybe at most a milisecond difference between any 2 CDs) through a bunch of fuzz pedals. That's what MBV is like.

If you like "hypnotic" music, you should check out Brian Eno's solo stuff from the 70s.

Oh, also...I believe the guy in the suit is Jimmy Flemion of the Frogs. He also played in Sebastian Bach's solo band.

This is more ambient pop but they remind me somewhat of My Bloody Valentine and that is the Cocteau Twins. I have several of their albums but I think their 2 best are "Treasure" and "Heaven Or Las Vegas".

Great ethereal female vocals by Liz Fraser with indecipherable lyrics with a great guitar sound (it washes over the vocals like MBV).

Cool, thanks. I'm listening to MBV as I type. Ony Shallow is my new favorite song. :D

The Edge from U2 (duh!) put out a solo record in the 80's. It was actually the soundtrack to some movie about drug addicts. One of the songs is a remake of Heroin with Que Ball (Senaed O'Connor) on vocals. The rest of the album is instrumental and it's really got a hypnotic feel to it. I have the record, but I don't have a turn table and I can't find any of it on Kazaa. The CD is out of print. The whole album is like a weird drug trip. I love music like that.

shAllow is my favorite mbv song too.

check out some of the e.p.'s...

    tremolo
    feed me with your kiss
    glider

they all have that same vibe as loveless

    cocteau twins are great too.

ride is really good to. like a cross between the who and my bloody vanlentine. check out nowhere-moon/entwistle style rhythm section w/ sheets of guitar textures and indeciperable vocal harmonies.

swervedriver-like ride, more on the rock side. lots of fuzzy-wahed out guitars. raise is my favorite album by them.

and slowdive-they sound more like mbv. all their records are good, but soulvaki is my favorite.

The beginning of track #6, "I Only Said" is awesome, to put it mildly.
