    Its not about the billionaires controlling the party but rather AIPAC. The funny thing is the more pro Israel bullshit they push onto the general the more people will start hating israel. Why should new yorkers give a **** about israel when they cant afford basic items?

    Who sincerely gives a **** about israel? The same way who gives a **** about Saudi Arabia.

    The core issue isn't just political bias, it's the influence of money in politics. Organizations like AIPAC have billionaire funding behind them, and that money is used to buy political influence. Politicians, regardless of their personal convictions, respond to those who fund their campaigns. The public interest only gets serious attention when it aligns with the financial interests needed for re-election. Without campaign finance reform or structural changes, superficial gestures are all we’ll get, because the real incentive lies in securing the next check, not the public good. AIPAC in itself is not the defect, it's money. Freakeconomics is such a good book and really changed how I view how humans make choices when it comes to money.

    this was some of the saddest sh*t I’ve ever seen in a debate

    it was like everyone except for Mamdani had an AIPAC rep behind them with a gun to their back telling them they better say what’s on the script

    “I’d visit the holy land”

    :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: STFU

    “I’d make my 4th trip to Israel followed by my 5th trip to Ukraine”

    [IMG]

    So all u MFers just so happen to have the same trip in mind?

    What a clown show of candidates. None of them are impressive. The Democratic party has some SERIOUS problems right now. Are there any normal people remaining in the party?

    GOOD DAY

    I view almost everything through the lens of emergent behavior based on incentives. Those incentive aren't always money, but in politics it usually is.
    I post this video every once in a while. Public opinion of a policy has a near zero impact on laws passed. Those with money get laws passed. Our government is a kleptocracy where money = representation.

    These people who came from authoritarian socialist or communist countries have a skewed view of socialism. There is a reason Cubans, Venezuelans, Soviet Russians don't like socialism and it's not the socialism. Ask Norwegians, Canadians, Dutch, Sweds, Germans, etc how they like their mixed economies.
    We aren't going full USSR because a democratic socialist got elected mayor of NYC.
