Zito to the Giants

    That's way too much money for a curve ball pitcher who has an almost 4 ERA the last few years. Shades of Mike Hampton.

    Zito hasn't had a good yr since he won the Cy Young. He has been OK since then and pretty bad in the playoffs. I could see him doing a little better in the NL, but nowhere near worth 7 yr 126 mil. He is not even close to being as good as the two best pitchers in the game in Roy Oswalt and Johan Santana, let alone better. Oswalt or Santana would get 20 mil a year on the open market. Astros got a HELL of a deal with Roy O, and Puma for that matter.

    he is great, but for $126MM...Give me a break...Giants are just stupid for doing this and no way this happens again...However, Roy could have easily commanded $100mm and would be worth IT...
