Zhizhi gets kicked off of national team. Does this affect Yao?

    so much for the need to "defect." That's a pretty harsh statement, but I don't see China threatening to imprison his family or him should he return.

    The CBA is not the government. He will not face any penalties for not returning as I understand it.

    Your understanding is too simple.

    He was labled as a betryor and kicked out from his national team.
    I think this is a real hurt to him when he is acctually loving his country. It is more than penalty.

    CBA seems not to be goverment. But they can control the chinese media including every newspaper and news websites. This is a huge job and they did it. They can use goverment.

    If Wang dare return China, penalties will be severe. He may not lose his life, but he will lose more than life.

    He stayed to develop his game against higher level competition and to be scouted by other NBA teams. I can give you 6 million reasons that make him look pretty smart... ;)
