Hell yes. The optimal MARGINAL tax rate is about that.

At what income level should that rate kick in?

The top 1% or more, just like in the Kennedy years (which btw, the Kennedy tax cuts set America on the right path from rightwards of even the empirically dubious "Laffer Curve", the Reagen tax cuts have left the nation with a legacy of sub-optimal economic policy, given the fact that America was already left of it anyways).

Technically, in the United States, that would be those earning $500,000 a year or more, who would be subjected to this new marginal tax rate above and beyond any income above $500,000, though the French had it about right when they rounded it up to a cool million dollar level for "a milli, a milli" callbacks.

There was a rather important monetary event that transpired between the kennedy and reagan "years," non?

Did you just bring up the Nixon shock to sound smart?

Non, ce n'est pas en écrivant comme une savant, qu'on devient une savant.

I guess it does allow me to pull one of my favorite quotes---

sure it's the krugs, and some people say 1987 was caused by machines and fat fingers, but don't spoil the fun

Can't logically present an argument against the Warrior President so you proceed to be vulgar and disrespectful to the man and the office. Anti-American and typical.

The Greek philosopher line is calling for me? Makes sense bro! If you can't contribute to the thread in a logical way why don't you just abstain from posting?

Don't stress. You'll never sniff the higher marginal rates.

I'm curious what percentage of Americans actually understand the concept of marginal taxation. It seems like every other person I meet actually thinks that if you're in the top income bracket, you lose 35% of your income.

Why would the father of modern medicine be calling him for?

Oh, wait, did you try to make a joke about hypocrisy? Now that's funny. Not the joke, but the attempt ;)

Haha - I think you might want to take a break from reading the Paranoid "WingNut" Daily.
