@saleem @Os Trigonum @Jontro None of y'all had tape on Yao Ming before the draft We got tape on this breh
Profound thought was profoundly posted by another profound poster : https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/zach-edey-yao-ming.322737/
the way bspn was covering the breh, i thought he'd be lottery. why everyone saying late first or second round? my dad's friend who went to purdue is super excited about him.
Jokic posted up 7 times per game which lead the NBA. Embiid posted up 6.8 times per game. Nobody else in the league posted up even 5 times per game. How many post up attemps do you realistically expect Edey to get each game? He will be a target for double teams because he doesn't pass well and turns the ball over more than he gets assists. What are you planning to do with Sengun? Are you going to sit your leading scorer and rebounder? Or do you plan to play two non shooters who both want to be in the post? We had an issue with opposing centers sitting in the lane effecting our ability to drive. So your solution is to allow teams to put even more guys in the paint? Edey will spend a whole lot of time on the perimeter attempting to defend the pick and roll. That will cut into his rebounds. We finished as the third best rebounding team in the league last season. How is that sucking?
If there was ever a chance to make him a 9th pick .....the odds are getting worse making him a 3rd pick and I think that would actually make the Rockets an anomaly...... Purdue are boilermakers. Houstonians are astronauts.
Ok, not going to make him faster. Also, Hakeem isn't a shooting coach. Edey has zero face up game. Hakeem worked with Dwight Howard, who's way more athletic than Edey, how did that work out? Did Dwight become a good postup player? You also didn't answer why you believe that the #3 rebounding team in the league sucks at rebounding. You also didn't answer whether you thought we should play Sengun and Edey together. What problem do you believe that Edey would solve for us?
We could be the #1 team in rebounding Dream can reach a young man how to score in the low post Sengun and Edey would work fine together like Paul McCartney and John Lennon on the low post
Even if we could be the #1 rebounding team, we were #3 last year we obviously didn't suck at rebounding as you said. Why did you think that we sucked at rebounding? Olajuwon has been retired for 22 years. In that time which Rocket's has he turned into a great low post scorer? Please be sure to highlight the slow footed big men that he's turned into great post scorers. How do you figure that Sengun and Edey would work fine together? Defensively, neither can switch well. Offensively, both are most effective operating in the same place. Neither can shoot from behind the arc. The whole idea is to create lanes for our athletic wings to drive, not to further clog up the lane. Yeah, "just like Lennon and McCartney", that makes sense. I assume that you mean "as effective in the low post as two sub-six foot Brits who never scored a point in the post". How about actually explaining why Edey would be able to play with Sengun instead of just making unsubstantiated claims? Lets hear why they would work together? Again I will ask, what problem would Edey solve? You've mentioned rebounding and low post scoring. As you now know, we are already a good rebounding team. We also already have one of the best low post scorers in the league. Were you also under the impression that we sucked in the post? How does that help any of our main weaknesses and actually improve the team?
Luka is pretty athletic actually--people think he's slow because he's a white boy He has Harden-ish sneaky athleticism Jokic is faster than Edey and also has galaxy brain IQ. Edey is just a big dumb bruiser who beat up on a bunch of college kids with his size and no 3 second rule.
