Young? I clearly wanted reggie bush...

Anywho.. Im not the one blathering about following the seattle/sf plan (wilson/kap) and then suggesting drafting a "mettenberger type qb prospect"... If you cannot find the fallacy in your suggestion, you have the brain of a 15 y/o.

You finally admitted you like him, bravo.

Considering what Cam has to work with, pretty much every football mind who saw that game thought he played pretty well.

Even notorious Cam haters admitted that

Steve Smith is old as dirt and plays like it... Schaub had more weapons around him than Cam (and it's not even close) and barley managed to win 2 games.

Cam is the TRUE definition of a QB who does more with less (along with Brady).

In agreement with that, the only other qb I would put up there is Luck

I really like Luck... But he had Wayne and TY Hilton has the kind of speed that scares the hell out of defenses. Plus he had Bruce Arians his first year.

Harbough really wanted Cam and the rest of the NFL world better be glad he wasn't able to draft him.

We will take the qb with more talent than the #3 pick at qb. We will build our o-line 1st!

nope you don't understand SF and Seattle's game. It's 1. Defense 2. Huge running game 3. QB please don't screw up. Wilson and Kaep are more game managers. Kaep just isn't that good, and Wilson doesn't have to throw many passes all game.

Steve Smith has been huge for Cam Newton. He's not as fast as he was, but he still does everything right, and despite his size one of the best in the NFL at fighting for the ball. But yes, his increasing age is part of why Cam's yardage is down. Cam used to just throw the ball up for grabs, and you'd see Steve Smith making great plays for him time and time again.

Greg Olsen is a very athletic TE with good hands.

Cam this season was basically Alex Smith.

Wonder where Seattle would be with Matt Flynn or Tavaris Jackson? Wilson and CK are play makers they make plays.

So are you saying Cam was like the Alex Smith who had a great QB coach in Harbough and had Davis, Crabtree, and Gore... Or are you saying Cam was like Alex Smith who had a great QB coach in Andy Reid and one of the best running backs in the game in Jamal Charles...???

I think Alex has been in better offensive situations than Cam has been in the past couple of years _ but that's just my opinion.

LMFAO.... well you destroyed that argument.

The odd thing is that the BEST athlete of the bunch is Andrew Luck.... he is stronger than everyone on the list other than possibly Newton, he is faster than everyone on the list other than RGIII and his arm strength and "pop" is off the charts.

You must have not watched Cam a whole lot.

Cam is by far and away the most athletic and strongest qb in the league...

Has a top 5 arm, much stronger arm than Luck

    .....

why? instead of hyperbole why don't you, lets say post the combine results for both and lets see if:
Their combine measurables were so close the media "theme" at the time was comparing them to Cam.

Google "cam newton andrew luck combine", might help you out idk.

    Ah, another football neophyte.

Combine numbers are drastically different than on field performance.

If you watched both qbs consistently over the last couple years including their time in college you can clearly see Cam was much more athletic than Luck. I think strength wise Cam has him as well.

Luck is built, "country fed" as we call it. Cam is a specimen.

Have you not seen Cam run in the NFL, he runs like a running back and makes linebackers miss and dbs have to make a business decision about tackling him.

Luck is not making anybody miss and is easier to bring down in the open field.

    However...

Luck is the better qb at this point in time.

I like the last name. Mettenberger, sounds like old school no nonsense guy that will not take no for an answer.

*Chortles* you are a stat sheet man and all about numbers instead of looking at film

how about you take a look at those Cam highlights and you tell me...

heck that might be giving you too little

you couldn't see the difference between a rat and a lion if they were together in the same room
