I want to think Asik is a stud defender, but his Synergy rating is garbage. He is ranked 249th in points per possession. Compare that to DHoward (19th), Noah (60th) and Tyson Chandler (68th). Omer is definitely one of the best rebounders in the league, which boosts his and our team's defensive stats, but in terms of one-on-one and help defense, I don't think he's a top 5 defensive Center in that regard, let alone player.

He does very well in other advanced defensive stats though... he's top 5 in defensive RAPM (regularized adjusted plus-minus)
