Grantland Lowe Post podcast Both Zach Lowe and Ramona Shelburne go on record as saying the Clippers obviously are better than the Rockets. WTF?
Just dumbazz. Don't matter what they say, we have proven it. The Clippers are the footnote in this playoff season.
They are right. The Clips are a better team, but they did not play better within the 3 game sample of Games 5, 6 and 7 (except for the first 3 or so quarters of Game 6). The Clippers are very talented, but they do have flaws. The lack of depth finally wore them down later in the series when a couple of their bench guys didn't play above their usual level as they did to start the series.
No, Carl Hater-ra, the Clippers are NOT a better team. In a 7-game series, if they were better they would've found a way to win. The Clippers are a pretty good team with big flaws.
The two teams finished with the same record, tied head to head in the regular season (Rockets played harder schedule) and the Rockets beat them 4-3 in the WCSF. By what measure are they better? Certainly not better at winning games.
How often does the "best team" entering the post season win the title in the major sports? Honestly not as much as you would think.
I laugh at the idea that the Clippers lost because they were exhausted, therefore the better team didn't win. A huge part of being a professional athlete is conditioning. If your team is exhausted at an critical point this early in the playoffs, you don't desire to advance. Period.
Funny thing about a 7 game series is the better team always wins. This is why the NBA decided to make all rounds 7 games. Had the Clippers won the series, I'd hope nobody on this forum would be foolish enough to say the Rockets were the better team.
Carl, please define "better" ... I always thought if a first team beats a second team in a 7 game series, the first team is the BETTER team. Maybe you know something I don't know ...
how can you contradict yourself on your message and still be able to hit Submit Reply? They can not be the better team and not have depth. Depth is the team.
No offense but I stopped caring about what members of the media, journalists, bloggers had to say about the Rockets in December.
If they were the better team they would be moving on to the next round. HOW FREAKIN HARD IS THAT TO UNDERSTAND!!!!!
I believe we were better than Portland last year even though they beat us. That said I think this year we had two very evenly matched teams. I could see the argument either way on who is better, neither is clearly superior.
Being a better "team" is having a collectively better rotation which can withstand the minutes to win. The Clippers may be better 1-3, but the Rockets depth really won out in this one. Whose to say the Rockets don;t have the better team because of thier depth?
Lowe: "And of course the only reason Houston had home-court advantage in this series is because they won a fake division that shouldn't exist." Seriously, WTF?!?
