Was there any realistic hope Z-Bo could regain his dominant form in time for the playoffs? Very doubtful IMO because of his age and size. What's stinks for the Grizzlies is this was supposed to be their year as a Finals contender. Considering his age and length of time off the floor, the odds of Z-Bo being a dominant player again next season are low.
In b4 MemphisX and what. Hollins has been working Gasol like a farm dog, so Speights is really going to have to elevate his game to new heights if the Grizz hope to secure a playoff bid. The Grizz have a tough couple of weeks ahead of them -- Minny and Boston are the only sub-500 teams they face in the next 2 weeks. They have SA twice, Denver, OKC, Indy, Utah, ATL, and then the Rockets get them in Memphis on Valentine's Day. I wouldn't be surprised if they're 5 games under 500 come mid-Feb.
Damn, I really enjoyed the Grizzlies playoff run last year. It was a lotta fun to watch. I hope Z-Bo can make it back. Would suck if he can't.
i find it funny that any mention of the grizzlies is like an instant ten page or more thread on this board. i don't know what to believe right now, but i figure tonight's game might clear up the speculation about zach.
Right now with Randolph out, Gay is their top scorer but Gasol is their most important player. He's giving them 18-11 and a few blocks on most nights. We weren't going to get him, but man I wish we could have stolen him.
