Not shocked whatsoever. That show got old quick anyways, and not shocked about Pawn Stars either. Every freaking show they have some "rare" collectors item just walk on in from Vegas? Ummm, yeah. K.
As soon as the name of the channel isn't what their shows are about, you can tell they're making crap up to attract audiences. Really, AUCTIONS on "History" Channel? Honey-Boo-Boo on "The Learning Channel"? *Disclaimer, they're now "TLC". I knew it was fake when they only feature certain "stars" of their show to be bidding. If they were really legit public auctions, they'd let anyone just come in and start bidding, but those people that try a bid get shot down easily by the "stars" of the show... and they never follow the other people even if they were to win (which the never do)... and they only show ONE auctioneer. Of course it's fake. I wonder if they sign some sort of contract at the beginning so they don't come to the public saying how fake it is. No, Another, they're not all fake... but you know they're not being "real" as the name "reality" implies... this no-script and shock-style type TV programming is entertaining to those gullible people who believe everyone's dialogue is "real."
Of course everything around them is staged and prepped, but there have been plenty of stories in the past where cast members were instructed to act a certain way. At that point, it's just amateur actors
True. However, people are selected based on their personalities and how well they integrate into a show. Characters acclimate to the criteria during casting as casting directors and producers tell them exactly what they are looking for on a particular program.
When the Lockers started consistently going for thousands, it became pretty obvious that the show was staged. And the prices these people assign to stuff is ridiculous. They often attach brand new prices to their used stuff. It is crazy.
I used to watch some of the early shows but it is ridiculous how they will say, "Yeah, I can get $200 for this"...Wish they would actually show a receipt down the line because no way they get what they say
Brandi was added to the show for sex appeal. Storage Wars Texas has tried to use Jenny as sex appeal, but she isn't attractive. Mary is somewhat attractive, but her relationship with Moe is a little strange. The massage that one time. The discussion of the sex light. etc.
The few times they do sell on the show, it is for a fraction of the retail value they quote. I usually figure they get 50-75% of the retail value on most items.
If you ever go to a real auction, all the people there are uneducated, welfare bums trying to win the lottery. In reality, there is nothing but unwanted junk in those storage units
That itself is not a giveaway because why would they air a segment where a storage locker goes for nothing and has nothing in it? Theoretically, they would only air big ticket lockers. That being said, the show is definitely fake.
Yup....all the "reality" tv on this history channel is fake too. I used to like the history channel but now there is so much dog **** on there it is hard to watch.
