yes, 2nd full-length CD. and it's very good. i just saw them monday night in denton; good live band. THE RAT, i think, is the first single. if it's not, it should be. such a great song; it so nails that murky gray area, post-break-up, where you want them back, then you dont.... the shifts in tone, from wanting to raging... i just love it. yeah, really a solid follow-up, lots of evolution - a band, i hope, to keep an eye on. one of quite a few, of late, thank god.
Thanks Ric. I checked out their website and they have 3 songs from Bows & Arrows you can listen to. "The Rat", "New Years Eve" and "Little House of Savages" http://www.bowsandarrows.net/index2.html
visited the library yesterday..picked up a few cd Machine Translations - Happy Leonardo's Bride - Open Sesame Very Best of Simon and Garfunkal - Tales from New York (yes you can like Art and Marvin) The Incomplete Glenn Tilbrook Beth Orton - Daybreaker
Have already gone through the latest stuff, so now I have this: "Join the Dots" - The Cure (will be playing this one for awhile) "The Aeroplane Flies High" - Smashing Pumpkins (limited edition box set that came out during the Mellon Collie era) "Machina II - Friends and Enemies of Modern Music" - Smashing Pumpkins (burned CD that had the tracks downloaded from the internet) "The Top" - The Cure "Disintegration" - The Cure And in the car, it is the Bob Dylan show!!! "Nashville Skyline" "John Wesley Harding" "The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan" "Blonde on Blonde" "Highway 61 Revisited" "Bringing It All Back Home" "Blood on the Tracks" "The Times They Are A-Changing"
Yes. _RR_ is the best release that I own. _Deep Shadows and Brilliant Highlights_ and _Love Metal_ (the CDs that followed) were not as good.
hey manny could you tell me a good price for the smashcing pumpkins box set if i were going to get it off ebay?
In the car: Richie Kotzen - What Is Johnny Lima - Made In California At work: Vertical Horizon - Go Telsa - Into The Now The King - Return To Splendor Train - My Private Nation Hall & Oates - Do It For Love (a monster if you like them) Fountain of Wayne - ? (the one with Stacy's Mom) NP: Spirit Caravan - Last Embrace
Hmm, let me think. I just went to Amazon and they had a used one for 44.99 but then it got snatched up as I was looking at the other ones. LOL! The rest of them are over $75; so, pele, if you can get it for under this price, I would take it - definitely jump on it if it is under $50 (but make sure it is in good condition, of course). I think I paid less than $50 for mine but I have had mine for close to 3 years.
yeah i think that box set might get really pricey in the coming years. so i should just get it now. i still need to get Gish; as it was stolen about 8 years ago and i never got it back.
Billy Bragg - Back To Basics Billy Bragg - Victim of Geography John Wesley Harding - It Happened One Night
Picked it up a few days ago ... and must say that I like it so far. Btw ... what's with the _ _ _ ? Palmray: I think I've mentioned this to you before ... but listen to "Just in Lust" by the Wildhearts, then "Drenched in Blood" by Turbonegro. I think you'll notice a similarity.
some black crowes grateful dead - "casey jones" "truckin" and "sugar magnolia" widespread panic - "light fuse get away" live double CD beatles mix zeppelin mix(es) nothing but rock baby! with river weather creeping up, there'll be a lot more sublime and mark david manders in the CD player in the near future.
Time Out by Dave Brubeck. Gotta Charlie Mingus CD on backup. Been in a jazzy mood the last few days for some reason...
Yeah you mentioned that, but I cannot get an ear on the "Just in Lust" record at my favourite recordstores since they don't have it in stock. Thats bad. I really want to check it out. Maybe I can bring them to order it anyway.
Here's the setlist for work today: The Cars/The Cars The Breeders/Pod Beck/Midnite Vultures Barenaked Ladies/Rock Spectacle REM/Monster (Manny's REM thread made me check this one out again) Anyone getting Eric Clapton's "Me and Mr. Johnson" today? I'm thinking of picking that up along with the new Vines CD.
