Possum & RIET-

Whether Olowokandi wants the max or not is not my point. Would you take him at 5 -7 million a season?

The point is - Odom isn't in this year's draft...so who cares. This thread topic is invalid.

hmmmmm...kandi, odom, taylor on the Rockets?...all we'd need then is a couple more trades and the Rockets could become the Clippers of a couple years ago...I'll take my chances with Ming.

This guy from Grizzlies was scouting Ming at Shanghai. Who is he? The Chinese reporter said his name is Hosley(?). He gave a lot of good words on Ming in China.

Well... the trade was actually prearranged for the 13th pick not so much just for Kobe (a la Richard Jefferson). So you're right, Jerry West actually selected Kobe.

Who cares! What does this have to do with your original statement. Oh well i'll answer your question anyway. At the expense of the #1 pick, NO! You say Ming is a potential dud. Well Kandi is a proven dud. Let it go dude. Your statement wasn't well thought out and your argument (whatever it is) is week.

windandsea: The haggard, jet-lagged guy in the photo looks kind of like Dick Versace-- who still works for the Grizzlies at West's pleasure....

That's funny the Grizzlies aren't interested in Ming yet they are sending one of their top men down there to scout him... Hell Rudy and CD haven't made that trip yet.

Oh but they're not interested, those Grizzlies. It sounds like another misinformed Grizzly fan. Clearly you don't know what your team wants... But if you had any smarts you would realize your teams weakest position is at center and they covet Ming.

Okay West would rather have Shaq but don't tell me he doesn't want Ming. You have no clue.

Ming IS NOT the best talent in the draft, NOT YET! That's what Jerry West probably meant to say! It'll take 1-2 years of getting stronger and putting on more weight but I'd rather take that kind a chance on a player who's 7-5 w/ skills and athlethicism! By the way, how are you guys doing w/ JWill, aka, "White Chocolate" these days? Great trade for Bibby, huh?

With those guys on the team, will there be enough of the "sticky icky" to go around?" ;)

But why would you want Jay Williams when you guys already have J-Will(aka, White Chocolate) ,and before that Mike Bibby, and before that Steve Francis?

The sum of all fears: trading away the #1 overall pick for another "tree-smoker"(Odoms)!

If any of you wannabe GMs have seen the Kandiman play at least four games, then you'd know all of his game and all of his moves already...

The guy is mediocre because he hogs the ball and thinks he's the best inside post option in the world in a team with Elton Brand. The guy thinks that. He's a freaking black hole with a mediocre FG percentage, and it took him the second half of his contract year to demand the ball.

That should scare anyone more than him being a no.1 bust.

No! I'd rather have Ming. Hell, I'd rather play a 6'10 power forward at center, because there's a ton of guys with great skills and talent at 6'10. But for some reason that extra two inches causes a lot of guys to suck. Plus, the only way we could even consider getting Kandi is if we got rid of Cato, and that will prove to be very tough. There's no way the Rockets would want Cato and Kandi on their team taking up $12 million in cap space. I can't believe I'm still arguing about acquiring Olowokanidi. He's not going to help this team and I hope the Rockets aren't even thinking about him.

Saying Olowokandi is the 5th best center in the NBA is like saying Rhode Island is the 50th largest state in the nation

Well actually Jay Williams led us to almost as many wins as your Mr. Everything aka Scottie Pippen Jr. aka Mr. Migraine..

Oh yeah the Grizzlies will have a better record than the Rockets but hell nobody goes to Rockets games anyways so who cares. j/k

Oh yeah remember, Yao Ming is Chinese for Shawn Bradley. Instead of Stickboy you guys will have Chopstick boy.

MemphisX,
I'm sorry, did you just diss Scottie Pippen? I think you've offended approximately 0.7 people on this BBS. Are you sure you're not a Rockets fan? :D

BTW we've got a lot of Chinese members now; try not to get culturally insensitive, mmmkay? ;)

I have no problems with the Griz. I like Dickerson, Battier and Gasol. I hope they do well next year.
