Clever signing in order to get his younger and better brother to sign as well.

Hopefully he can hit left handers.

Adding a Cespedes-like player without giving up a prospect. Now trade for a pitcher at the deadline?

Huge flexibility move and doesn't cost any prospects or draft picks. Also, would be nice if this gives us an inside track on his younger brother.

Once his visa stuff is taken care of, should see him in the majors before September. Bregman will still either find a spot up here soon or will be part of a huge trade no ones expecting.

alex can hit DH and play LF when the matchup calls for it..

Zombie robot got to play 63 games as a back up so gattis shouldn't be that bummed out about his at bats.

    This is insane.

We now have options and maybe Bregman will get moved to the outfield or dealt for a star pitcher...

I gave them premature credit for fast-tracking Bregman to the majors. I shoulda known better.

This is nothing if not interesting though.

    Bregman for Sale?

I like the idea of trying to keep all these guys and make it work. Maybe you trade Reed if Gourriel can play first next season?

Anyways, this guy seems like he has a lot left. What is the Cuban league like? AA, AAA? I assume there is some decent talent there including pitching talent. This guy struck out 3 times last year in about 49 games, 224 PA's.

This is going to be a fun 2nd half. I hope Gurriel is the real deal.

Who makes their MLB debut first - Bregman or Gurriel?

Maybe Bregman plays CF more and Gomez gets dealt? More DH for Bregman?

    The lineup combinations are crazy.

I like the signing. Valbuena probably moves to 1st I'd think, Marwin super-sub. People forget that DH is also an open position, I don't really see Gattis as a long-term option. I also wouldn't get too overly concerned about what player will play what, they'll be able to figure something out I'm sure.

Those saying Bregman to the OF....the Astros have not played him in the outfield at all, and it would be a huge misuse of his talents.

Bregman is trade bait for someone, and it better be someone HUGE.

He deserves credit for spending money and trusting his GM and scouting staff.

An overrated issue that could be resolved pretty quickly.

Bregman's an athlete.. he could handle LF without issue. The main question is, when do we get to start seeing how these decisions get made. As of now, neither Gurriel or Bregman are slated to start a game any time soon.
