    But the seams!
    BJ found the seams!

    1. Fails all year long to get any offer or SnT.
    2. Lets QO expire, and many Cap Experts think that was best deal, in hindsight to new
    3. Turns down $8m in Summer, and $7m + Incentives to $8m just recently from Rockets
    4. Signs $37m/4yr from Nets with March 1st waive date
    5. Morey schools him by matching an pointing out deal is only $31m for Rockets
    6. BJ embarrassingly asked his client to Hold Out, and
with "I'll get you those bonuses. I will SHOW YOU THE MONEY"
    7. Final deal
      1. $31m base + $4m Bonuses = $35m
      2. DMo loses his March 1st Waive date for July 7th
      3. DMo even loses his Trade Veto Power that came with a match, since this is a new Deal directly with Rox

Rubio might be a Rocket at the end of his
Rubio might end up a Rocket at the end of his career like Mark Jackson and he'd tell you he told you so.

If I were a conspiracy theorist like holic looking for cool seams in the fabric of the NBA's CBA universe, and took the anti-BJ position on these negotiations, I would be saying

    1. Morey knew BJ didn't know how to write up a contract, but knows BJ needs to assure DMo trade blocking power for him to sign anything with Morey
    2. So, Morey wrote the Nets offer for BJ and said, if you go get the Nets to sign this, I will match. And that will guaranteed you get Veto Power on trades for a year. I can't put that in a direct contract with DMo, because we have a Team policy not to include no-trade clauses. But the matching will do it for you, per CBA rules ... see this clause in the CBA.
    3. I'll even write in a March 1st waive date for you, too, so that 2nd yr is pretty-much guaranteed
    4. BJ. OK, cool. Good compromise. I'll go get that signed, with all incentives, right?
    5. Yeah, I'll write those into the Principal Terms
    6. Then BJ dutifully goes and gets Nets to sign, and Morey matches,
    7. But ... psych, Morey calls league office and says "upon examining this Nets offer sheet, I think they wrote these Principal Terms wrong, we don't have to match all that, correct"
    8. League says, "hmmm, yeah you're right. Who wrote that offer sheet?"
