good post, but one problem. If we get back to 50 wins it won't have anything to do with Battier, it will be because Mac and Yao are healthy.

I'm not happy with trading away Gay BUT what have we all been saying about this draft through the end of the season and right up till it started, it was a weak draft and there were no super incredible talents just very good ones, so lets chill with this Kobe Divac comparison

Speaking of being lied to, Clutch's source that told him we were looking to trade up not for Roy but for Gay, he was lying too I guess. I'm fine with it insofar as perhaps they were hoping to keep someone else from stopping us from getting Roy, but damn it didn't even work. The only people they fooled were some fans.

Yeah the same criticisms were heaped on Charlie Villanueva - they also said he was not ready to help out right away. Same was said of Luther Head.

    And Pau Gasol

Apparently, that criticism did not deter West from choosing Paul. Gay was criticized for that as well interestingly.

    What about Chris Bosh?

    And finally, Mike Miller

It's been said before, but it's all Miami fault!! We figure that we'll find some peices that can shoot, get TMac and Yao on the level of Wade and Shaq and voila, championship. They don't realize that Dallas lost more than Miami won. They had their foot on their throat and let up a little and paid for it.

You realize those are best case scenarios? Sure, they said the same thing for those guys, but it doesn't mean Gay will be the same thing too. I don't understand what you're doing there.

Why is it the only inexperienced person Van Gundy is willing to give a few years to develop is himself?

That comparison is insulting to Wade, who dominated in college and dropped a triple-double in the tournament on an elite Kansas team.

Gay has done nothing to warrant a comparison to Wade. If anything, Gay is more like Rashad McCants than D. Wade.

That saying that about a high profile player is not enough to say one supports the trade especially one who is 19, humble and plays on a star studded team like Uconn Huskies.

Rudy was basically a steal. Where is BPA philosophy when you need one.

To make matters worse, Memphis is a division foe. Rememeber Jerry West categorically refused to do a S & T with us last year to land Stromile. But now he finds it very convenient to "help us out" now.

Remember he [West] heard the same heard the same criticisms of Paul that made two teams pass him up, in the 2001 draft thereby resulting in Pau landing on his lap.

that's what bothers me the most, and I it's 70% of JVG first-defense-then-offense-way that backs it up!

    Great Post!
I talked to two people in the front office and they both said the deal is not 100% done yet and we got to wait and see(still might change).

The only person I would blame for all this is JVG and him not really wanting any rookies( I don't think he is real high on Roy either),lets hope he does not turn the Rockets into another Knicks(seems like we could be on our way).

We could have done better then this, hell keeping Rudy would be much better(there is a risk as we all know) when you take age, dept, salary, potential etc.......

Eventhough they might deny it but bunch of people have contacted the Rockets one way or the other and let them know they are not happy with the deal, keep doing it, don't let the Rockets go down.

I hope this deal is done. I just hope it looks something like this-->

    Houston trades:
Rudy Gay (signed to a rookie deal then traded)
Stromile Swift or Juwan Howard (up to Memphis)
    Luther Head
    Bob Sura

    Memphis trades:
    Shane Battier
    Mike Miller
    Rights to #24 Kyle Lowry

Salaries work if Rudy is signed by the Rockets then traded to Memphis.

Unfortunately we know Dawson isn't that smart. And Jerry West isn't making a division rival a contender.
