From the Thinking Basketball Youtube channel, this has been a fun series covering the greatest peaks of NBA players since the 1977 NBA merger. It starts with a video describing some of the criteria he looks at when evaluating players through a deep dive into the Wilt vs Russell debate: Bill Walton: Kareem Abdul Jabbar: Larry Bird: Magic Johnson:
It's going in chronological order but ... don't get your hopes up. Steph Curry will probably make an appearance, though.
i have thoroughly enjoyed this series. i don't know why robinson came before hakeem since hakeem's peak is presumably 93-95. for a second i thought he wasn't going to have one for hakeem but he had him at #6 on the top 40 so i didn't see how he'd skip him. he seems to value regular season more than i do (which i guess is why curry will be on there), but hakeem is just so ridiculous in the playoffs.
ben taylor is biased, he just panders to popular players. Having harden ranked where he belongs wouldnt be good for his website which is subscription based
ben taylor's formula makes no sense. he claims he uses the eye test, and doesnt check the box-score, if thats the case the eye test would tell anyone that harden and not curry has the most gravity in the league and has had that title since the second half of 2018 gms and coaches surveyed said for the 2nd straight year that james harden causes them to make the most adjustments
