Your Trump-Supporting Family/Friends/Colleagues - Did 1/6/21 Change Any of Their Views?

They are doubling down and basically claiming all the other republicans are RINOs and slaves to corporations. It's really sad that there's no critical thinking involved and just talking points from their extremist media. Republicans will be screwed if the Donald starts his own political party, and honestly I don't see what else he can do to try and get out of all these crimes and claim he's being persecuted from the left and right.

 

Good point. A lot of these people were already primed to escape reality and QAnon fit.

Some parts of their minds couldn't process things entirely out of their control and they found a group to navigate along with it.

I mean we were taught to trust institutions like journalists but now everything has an angle that's shrouded with confusion and uncertainty. Can't trust corporations, but media corporations are truthier? So grey...

It's so bad that currently real life heroes shrink from attention, lest they want someone snooping for dirt. Our cultural zeitgeist is populated with fictional heroes who have incredible super powers to the point where they shoulder the burdens of society and leave us as passive observers.

Trust has flown out the wayside, and people are becoming more isolated than ever.

I've wondered how leaders can control tens of thousands, let alone millions or billions of people with their monkey minds. Coming from that sheer incredible scope, looking down seems batty.

But something similar can be said for the person on the bottom looking up. Now start from zero and understand science and it's different branches. Understand a country's culture, now your company's. Try to decipher what civil servants are doing, what their lingo is. Apply that to a completely different paradigm in a another country. How do regions interact on a micro/macro inter and intra levels?

What does that have to do with vaccines? Or bitcoins? Or the global human trafficking trade that still goes on?

Does it even matter? Do we even matter? What we post on electrons are getting more attention from random people than anything we've ever physically produced. Sounds insane yet incredibly validating.

How can we imagine what the future looks like when we can't even perceive the present?

They've probably looked into that unending abyss, snapped, and finally said,
