So Lewis rising up for the catch, making the catch, holding onto the catch, and keeping both of his feet in the endzone was another product of Brett Favre? Please, if it was any other quarterback in the NFL both the quarterback AND the receiver would be getting all the recognition and press. Because it was Brett Favre, the guy that actually MAKES the catch gets virtually no credit.
Sure it was a great play by Lewis, but there aren't many QBs that can essentially throw the ball 50 yards on a rope like Favre did on that play.
Not saying that. It was spectacular catch on Lewis' end but let's give credit where credit is due. For Favre to avoid the rush in that manner was a great play on it's own. He deserves credit as well. Great plays by both parties.
I agree. What was the name of the receiver who made the catch? Why no one knows, huh? @ :48, with the line of scrimmage no longer in the picture, all we see are 3 DB's and the receiver... and the commentator goes: "I mean, LOOK AT THAT THROW" WTF? Yeah, 'cuz Farvreah beat all those cornerbacks.
Honestly if this wasn't just his 2nd year starting, he would be in that category based on his stats. He's been way better than I could have ever imagined. I thought he would suck terribly.
I don't know how you keep them all straight. Michael Lewis, Michael Lewis, & Greg Lewis. I think the Eagles have an obsession.
I don't doubt his arm strength even at 40. That's never been in question with me. I doubt Brett Favre, the Gunslinger At Age 40. He's always been a gunslinger and it's taken his team to highs (Super Bowl) and lows (that last ditched effort in his last playoff game w/ the Packers). He's a no doubt a Hall of Famer but to say he's anywhere in the Top 5 quarterbacks today makes me cringe. The one thing I give Favre credit for is that he chooses his comeback team wisely. If he went to a team with any less of a Defense or an O-line, there'd be some tarnish on that Brett Farve Legacy right now.
like by countless championships, pro-bowls, playing for one of the top 3 teams evey year since he took over... you can't really compare Brady to Palmer, and those who think Palmer is better literally has been hiding under a rock for the past decade or just has no idea what they are looking at, or lying about how much they think they know about football. yes, you know who i'm talking about.
Palmer over Brady! that's not retarted by a very small margin, that's just ignorance. obviously, if you think that, i can't take you seriously. man, Palmer over Brady!
ok, he's having a break out year, but up to this year, he hasn't shown me anything, IIRC they didn't make the playoffs last year after Favre took them to like a 13-3 record the last year he was there.
still, it was Favre making the throw, to the spot only where his receiver could catch it. he get's some credit don't you think.
and yes, i don't think river's playing like a top 10 QB right now. he may be a top 10 QB, but he hasn't shown ME that he's a top 10 QB NOW. ok? comprende senior?
