That is a full season, something Schaub has never done. The 2007 season he didn't play in a meaningless 16th game, so he really hasn't miss a game due to injury since Week 1 of the 2006 season. It could also have something to do with or maybe because he had a 104.1 QB rating in 2007, and a 102.6 rating this year? Maybe its because he has a higher career rating then Schaub?
McNabb is pretty much the Rodney Dangerfield of NFL quarterbacks. Is this for the current season or active quarterbacks?
And you need to figure out math....I said he is in the 11-15 range...which would be above VY, JY and DA..... Come on Swoly this is american football, not soccer.... I disagree...but being a fan is cool...so good on ya. DD
I love Schaub but I find it hard to call him a "Top 5 QB". You have your top two guys in Manning and Brady. These guys not only have the arm and the accuracy for the job but they manage the game better than all the QBs in the league (Manning especially). Then you have the guys that just. get. the. job. done. That would be your Aaron Rodgers and your Ben Roethlisberger. Big Ben, despite not having the gaudy stats, somehow gets the W. Sure having an elite Defense helps a lot but he makes the most out of his porous o-line and will find ways to get the ball to his receivers. Same goes for Rodgers. To round out the Top 5, it's Brees. He's like the Steve Nash of the NFL--the dude just spreads the ball around every which way. Matt Schaub HAS been making the best of his situation (o-line, the nonexistent running game, etc) but I've seen one too many questionable throws to call him a Top 5-er. Maybe it's because I watch every Texans game or something but Schaub's decision making isn't quite sharp enough just yet. He'll definitely get better as his career progresses but he's not a Top 5-er yet.
I don't see how Aaron Rodgers can be labeled as a guy that "justs. get. the. job. done." so far. If he's just getting it done, what is Schaub doing?
You can make an argument if you want to make a list based on careers, but based on this season so far, you're absolutely wrong. 188/283 66% 8.3avg 2342yds 16TDs 100.5rtg
Have the Texans had to play the Vikings twice this year? Let's take an honest look at their schedule, they have beaten some pretty crappy teams..... You can only beat who is on your schedule, but come on, some honesty is needed. If they beat the Colts this weekend, then they will have some serious street cred, right now, they are a bubble team at best. Lies, damed lies, and statistics.... Too many bad throws and decisions, pick 6s etc....I am not sold on him as a top tiered QB, I think his flaws will eventually haunt this team.... DD
Why is Palmer so high on so many lists? He hasn't posted a passer rating of 90+ since 2006, and has a career rating under 90. Or how about McNabb, who is having a great season, but has struggled to stay healthy. He has only twice in his career posting a rating above 90, and he was hurt during one of those seasons. Is it because you blame his lack of receivers? He is a very good QB, but I think people are rating him too high.
This is laughable. Did you base this off Madden 08 or something? 1. Manning 2. Brees 3. Palmer 4. Brady 5. Rivers 6. Big Ben 7. Favre 8. Rodgers 9. Schaub 10. McNabb
Hmmm, Horrendous game against Carolina? He played 2.5 quarters and then was injured not to mention his defense and special teams had pretty much sealed that game. He still had a 80+ passer rating with the little time he did receive that game. He didn't play against the Saints or Chiefs the next two weeks. He destroyed the Bucs, as he should have. The Raiders loss falls on coaching. You can't become one-dimensional against any team in this league and 52 pass plays to 14 run plays just don't add up to a win in any game. He did have a bad game in Washington but still came out with the win. He dismantled a New York Giants defense that people, myself included, thought the front 4 would eat up that makeshift offensive line. I'd give him one bad game on the year so far.
Excellent point. Packers have beaten nothing but quality teams so far. Rodgers is definitely getting done.
I mean if you want to advocate for Schaub due to his numbers, Rodgers is: 1st in QB Rating this year 11th in Completion % 6th in total yards 1st in Yards Per Reception Tied for 5th in Tds While being sacked for a league leading 31 times. If that doesn't tell you he's. getting. the. job. done. I don't know what to tell you.
I didn't say Rodgers wasn't having an excellent year, he'd be up there on my list, but you're not the getting. the. job. done. guy if your team, well, isn't getting the job done yet.
It's definitely not because of his stats but because of how clutch he has been. 2 4th qtr. comebacks against arguably the 2 best defensive teams in the last decade (Ravens/Steelers), he should of had a 3rd one if Shaun Rodgers did not block the extra point. The Bengals are 5-2 and should be 6-1, he is the reason why.
Are we talking about just this year? If so 1.P.Manning 2.Brees 3.Brady 4.Brett Favre 5.Ben Roethislberger McNabb probably would be up there if he didn't miss some games.
