Wayne may not be a top 5 rapper but he is definitely not in the same category as Soulja Boy.

People really should listen to his music Pre Carter 2.

Agreed. Listen to Wayne 2006 and before. Very good rapper with a lot of promise. He basically went to mainstream I guess. He's just entertainment now.

I think 2Pac comes to your mind naturally as the best MC ever, the one who defined parts of hip hop.

Sure there are a LOT of other really good rappers, emcees but I think of the alive emcees I'd have to go with Nas, KRS 1, Rakim, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Marley Marl, Immortal Technique, Eminem, Apathy, JMT and the list goes on...

we, hip hop fans are blessed to have these kinds of artists alive

"hip is the knowledge, hop is the movement" - KRS 1

    God bless hip hop

    Middle-Aged Homosexual snake <-- that's funny

    Who writes his music?

I think I stopped paying attention to him once Manny Fresh was gone

Even his current style/performance is bitten. Gillie da Kid used to be on their label and Wayne stole everything from him.

...and yes, anyone who has ever been on Cash Money owes their success to Mannie.

Any word on Mannie's second solo album (From Big to Huge)? It was originally supposed to drop in Dec. 2008, but (no surprise) didn't.

Mind of Mannie Fresh was hilarious

they're called "ghost writers", rumor has it that half of the current "hip-hop stars" hire those ghost writers to write their lyrics..

don't get me wrong, I like some of his mainstream stuff, but I strongly dislike the little "weezy fanboys" who worship him and hail him as the greatest of all time..

I don't know...Mannie's got alot of talent it's just all in playing the keyboard, guitar and making beats...rapping isn't really his strong suit. ;)

The funny thing about it is that when he was a kid around 14 or 15 his lyrics were better and he was ghost writing for some of the other cash money artists. Now, nothing flows and his lyrics are all mixed up with the occasional clever punch line...he sounds like he's been smokin' wet or something.
