G.I. JOE was a freaking badass movie, despite the acting and the plot holes, the action was quite nice...

    star trek
    harry potter
    avatar
    the proposal
    gi joe

probably missing a few, can't recall all the films i've seen this year

Kindly note raj's fabulous five films of 2009:

    5. Star Trek - Significantly superior to the Star Wars revisits.

    4. Blind Side - Inspirational, revealing experience.

    3. Coraline - raj's arachnophobia was fully exploited in this otherwise pleasant feature.

    2. The Hangover - Heh. Heh. Heh.

    1. American High School - Many men and women will never actually see this film, however the year's best line of script comes the actor Scotty Kyle in American High School:

"Wait a minute. I see a guy dancing with another girl. Yep. You know why he's with that leggy blonde? I'll tell you why. There's a lot of reasons. But one of them, come to mind, she's f-able. And you're sitting here with a guy with a mustache, and a 2 inch -----"

    1. Star Trek(Way surpassed my expectations)
    2. Half Blood Prince (Good, but no where near the book)
    3. New Moon (Yeah, f*** off, I liked it)
    4. Angels & Demons
    5. Transformers 2 (Hated the 1st one, but liked this one)
    6. Terminator Salvation (Christian Bale kept this from being number 1)
    7. Rise of the Lycans
    8. The Proposal (semi funny)
    9. Inglourious Basterds
    10. Friday the 13th (I'm really grasping for something)

Those make it over Bride Wars, GI Joe, and Last House on the Left. I can't believe I've only seen 13 new movies from 2009.

I've seen less than 13. The only new movies I watched were

    Star Trek
    Avatar
    Watchmen
    Inglourious
    The Hangover
    Transformers 2
    District 9
    Bandslam
    G.I. Joe
    Up
    500 Days of Summer

So that's 11, I need to watch Moon online somewhere.

i agree. the impression i got was that this was a movie made for people who were already fans of the graphic novel. i saw it w/ 2 people who read it and they loved it and the 2 who didnt were like "meh...it was ok".

I'm not much of a movie goer, but here it is:

    Star Trek
    I Love You Man
    Watchmen
    Inglorious Basterds
    District 9

I haven't watched Avatar, and evidently I really need to catch the Hangover. From the sounds of it, I think these 2 would make it into my list.

    2. Star Trek
    3. Half Blood Prince
    4. District 9
    5. Cloudy w/ A Chance of Meatballs

There's still a number of movies I need to see...Sherlock Holmes, Up in the Air, Inglorious Bastards, Where the Wild Things Are, 500 Days, Hurt Locker.

And I actually prefer Cloudy just a bit over Up...Up was a great movie but I don't think I can watch it over and over again.

If I had a bottom five list GI Joe would probably take 3 spots. It was horrible, and all I was looking for was a fun, popcorn-filled 2 hours. Trash. The freakin' ice sank!

Top movies, tough to choose only 5

    500 Days of Summer
    Hangover
    I Love You Man
    Funny People
    Adventureland
Away We Go - a good movie nobody watched
    Taken
    Zombieland

Funny People and Adventureland were a lot better if you take the movies for what it was a dramedy, not a LOL comedy

A few I haven't seen that may crack the list, Up in the Air, Up, and Inglorious Bastards

The Goods was the worst movie I've seen in ages, id probably watch Disaster Movie again rather than watching that again
