Bulking up and changing your shot are not things you do in the middle of the season, it's a bad idea. During one of Rudy's call in shows he said that working on his shot is something they intend to do this offseason, but will leave it alone for now so they don't do more harm than good. Trying to add muscle can cause problems as well by wearing you out and making your arms too sore to be useful and cause you to lose your shooting touch by not being used to your new strength. For now he should try using the bank shot more so not having an arc on his shot won't cause as many problems. Last night I saw a few good signs for Eddie, one was him actually taking he ball to the rim. Like sun12 said, he needs to be more agressave. Another thing that I saw and liked is they were running a play that got him the ball in the post and he hit the turn around jumper in crunch time. He may have been the 3rd option on that play but he wasn't nervous about it and came through late in the 4th. And about him being soft and not showing emoution, he plays hard when he's on the court regardless of if he is yelling or not. And Karl Malone said after a game against him that he was able to hold his own and wouldn't back down when he tried getting physical with him and would get physical in return. Eddie will be an solid player given time to develop.
I went to school with Elmer Bennett. Boy was AVERAGING 45 pts. a game in high school, and we all destined him (media stations included) to be a STUD. Anyway... (cough, cough) My point is that a dominating high school player is absolutely no guarantee for success. If it were, why not go scout some elementary school leagues. I was ecstatic about the Rox getting Griff. But he HAS to start stepping up now! In my opinion, he is already a disappointment. Good news? He can still totally brick up, and be a dominating player. he just has to want to.
