LOL for calling me a YOF. Ok at least I'm not one frustrated fan who cries and b****es. I think you just convince me to put you on my ignore list. Have fun talking and swearing to yourself.
Hey, guys, the thread is about Yao, not each other. I always wonder how some people always turn basketball discussions into personal attacks against other posters. Why does this have to be personal? You need to understand it's impossible for everyone to always agree with one another, so arguments are inevitable. Let's post in a more mature manner.
I'm kind of dissapointed at the result against Spain, and I'm dissappointed at Yao and the whole Chinese team, but this is just one game, I believe that they can come back, and beat New Zealand on Tuesday. But, if they lose on Tuesday too, then..............................................................................................
Yeah I agree, i apoligize for posting in such an unshopisticated manner, But if you read the guys response to my critque he told me to STF to a fair and objective criticism of the player's consistency. I detest people that can't handle a little critiscm over their player when I watch the bashes sf3 got of how stupid he was and turnover prone etc etc and by and all sf fans took it good. I am no Sf fan but u should be able to critque anybody and take it with some humility then telling a guy to STF. Right?
Another thing is that this patlabor kid is actually a YOF and for calling other people a YOF is pretty ironic. He took this harder then any one on here. Take a look at one of his post of how p!ssed off he is for not being able to watch the game in Toronto Canada. Maybe Bateer is his favorite player adn that's why he's so damn anxious to follow it. LOL
Buddy I'm a YOF but not an "extreme YOF" like people like yourself who can't take any critque over the guy even though his dificiencies maybe true. Please put me on your ignore list and I will do the same, becus your posts have nothing of value to me at all.
Hey kid don't put words into my mouth. Show me where is "STF" or do you mean "STFU"? Apologizing? You've already done your damage.
I've frequented a lot of forum's in my life, from Basketball to Football, College and Pro (no baseball, but I can't imagine it being different), and the truth of the matter is that when players and teams don't perform well, there will always be a segment of the posters that will be massive complainers. It's just amazing how often posters that never post anything will come out and kick the team when they are down. I know it's kind of trite, but if the team doesn't win, then the boos will rain down, Period.
I watched the whole game. Yao didnt play well. CNT and Spain is not in the same league. Spanish players handled the ball way better the Chinese. Gasol outplayed Yao, but Yao could be more dangerous than him if played right. I kinda understand Yao's frustration. I was frustrated watching the game. That Li Nan guy is an spot up shooter, why the hell he dribbled the ball for? Zhu Fangyu kept jacking up 3 like he is Peja. And Bateer shows why he couldnt play NBA. I understand Yao's frustration. Yao needs to learn put the weight on his shoulder to carry the team next time, be more assertive and demand the ball more like Dream did. All in all, I think this might be a postive expereince for Yao because he is learning to take the leader's role in the team.
buddy I like your post. I didn't lose or gain any respect through this game. but I hope YAO can learn how to be a leader through this game. He is not used to this you know.
I just watched the record, CNT could hardly be much better even if Yao had been more aggressive. I'd give Yao an 8 (10 base) on his aggressiveness in this game. The only major fault was in the 1st quater - instead of dunking over Gassel , Yao choosed to shoot the ball but missed. CNT has the 2 defecents that Rockets had in last season: PG hold the ball for too long in offense. PF can't score. What made it worse is that the PFs can't defend either, and Yao got 2 fouls in helping D. CNT is not as good as Spain, but it is Harris who made CNT lost by 25. He sitted Yao for 5 minutes in the 3rd quater when CNT cut the deficiency from 12 to 8. When the 3rd quater was over, CNT was 19 points behind Spain. Another big mistake was to put Bateer and Yao on the court at the same time in the 4th quater. Two slow pieces on court at the same time make CNT defenseless.
i'm gonna change my vote. after reading more... i guess my respect for him has increased. he says that he was only so emotional because the performance of his teammates disgraced the other, older members of the CNT that worked so hard yet couldn't make the olympic roster. yeah... i would be pissed too.
This poll makes me want to puke. It's true Yao and CNT played terrible today. But putting up a poll questing Yao's heart? Come on, you didn't even know the full story. From my reading of the media articles and Yao's quote in Chinese, he was pissed at some of the teammates because Yao felt they gave themselves up, didn't follow the coach's plays, didn't train hard during practises, and generally didn't seem to give anywhere close to 100%. He said in NBA players give 100% on the court because otherwise they wouldn't get those contracts. It has nothing to do with Yao wants to quit, period! BTW, Duncan and Iverson "lead" USA to a crushing loss by a non-contender PR. Do they become the most overrated NBA players now?
I voted "I respect him as much as before today's game", the reason is I don't think Yao is a GOD like many here believe. The problem I have with his burst is that he sucked too in this game. I watched part of the live feed, then watched the entire replay. There is no reason he blamed his teammates in front the media public when him himself played like a sissy! His defense was horrible, and it seems everyone could just blow by him on the way to the basket. His offense was terrible as well. Many times, he wasn't sure what to do when he got the ball at the FT area, ended up rush the ball out to other players. The Spain's double team was not that good in this game, he just took the easy way out with lots of jump shots. Why he was so favor of the jump shot instead of power his way to the basket is beyond me.
