    Same, as a Bachelor I can make it off of 40-50k easily.. Thats my required income.. However desirable and very comfortable income would be higher.

    80k is more than sufficient to support a wife, a kid and yourself. In Houston anyways, wouldn't be the same in a place like New York

    Also I'm speaking for me anyways as I completely own my house with no mortgage, 80k would be more than enough

    If I'm assuming a mid-life age of 40-50 with wife and children. I'll go ahead and assume the children are expensive teenagers and the wife has become obssessed with having expensive "things" with little to no practical use. So....

    250k for me+family

    The more money one earns, the desire to spend earned money increases.

    Honestly, a family of 4 could be just fine with a household income of anywhere from 50k to 200k.
