My prom date was a friend, who also happened to be the valedictorian. Very smart and capable. I still feel a little bad for her that she had to go with me, but we both had fun. According to Friendster, she's in med school now at Yale. I should reconnect with her.
At home waiting for me to get my "black ass" back to Houston, so I can paint the garage floor or some s**t...
went twice: one is living in Dallas with her husband and their 3 children; the other is in Hollywood...she's been in commercials, TV episodes, and some bit parts in movies....she recently married. and i must say...i'm happy to be with my wife
Still dating one of mine almost 8 years later.. I had 2 proms.. BTW what the hell is "Prom" short for??
Mine just graduated college. I haven't talked to her in a couple years but I keep in touch with her family and they keep me posted. She's going to be an English teacher in rural Alaska.
Yeah, pretty weird. Although it would be interesting to compare the proportion of married-my-sweehearts in the Hangout population with the proportion of married-my-sweethearts among Americans. In my undergrad, they used to say over half of the student body married someone else from the school. I used to think that was crazy, but three years out, most of my friends and I are following the pattern.
Really? Cool. I was over in Prince William Sound on July 3. I lived in Fairbanks from 2000-2005 (graduated from UAF in May) and now I work in marketing at a company in Anchorage.
He went to boot camp my first semester away at college, we both came back for christmas break, he was completely brainwashed and had no desire for anything that wasn't military related, we broke up, I haven't talked to him since. I hear that he's at A&M finally going to college and I'm sure he's in the corps since that's always been a big dream of his.
Actually my prom date (that I haven't seen or spoken to in many years) called my house out of the blue a few years ago leaving a weird message that she was looking for you. And that's the last I heard. I guess that was before I knew you were on here or I would of said something. I just remembered that. Haha, whatever...
Very cool. I'm dying to go back, but haven't found the time/budget to do it, yet. To people who haven't been, you don't know what you're missing.
I was too shy to ask a girl to prom. I chilled with an equally shy buddy and watched movies until we both decided to go to that high school "lock-in" function that most schools had back then (and still do?) to encourage students not to have sex after prom.
She is in seminary at Vanderbilt now... OK, so we didn't go to the actual prom, and no, I didn't have an actual female date. So get those mental pictures out of your head. I knew a long time before that there just wasn't anybody I wanted to go with (or vice versa). The selection of guys at my school was not good. So... forget the prom. I realized that it was just one silly day of your life anyway, and what was the point? My friend was depressed because she was never going to get to have her prom. I was in a making-fun-of-prom mood and made her go to the mall with me that night so we could try on all the ugly formal dresses and make fun of them. Then I went home and practiced the piano, memorizing the Third Movement of Sonata Pathetique at the last minute at midnight. My house was crawling with relatives. I had scheduled my senior recital for the day after prom. (therefore, I wouldn't be able to go even if I wanted to... oops... better excuse than "I didn't get a date". See my plan?) Hey, at least I actually accomplished something that weekend. Actually, it was great. I'm glad I did it the way I did.
keep it down man..she's standing right behind me with a large paddle and a leather mask on. call for help. please.
