instead of predicting w/l based on opponents record last season, like most people do here, I'll put it another way: Lakers: Rockets are not that good at season openers, especially with a new coach and the new guys who need to get around with each other, plus it's at the Lakers, we lose by a few points Jazz: After a loss, the Rockets sense some urgency. Although they still need to gel, everyone gives the best effort and individual show. We win big, nothing can be better than a revenge after all. Blazers: Not much to say, Yao will teach Oden who's older. We dismantle them. Mavericks: Cuban thought last season was an accidental failure. After this game he realizes things fail for a reason. Last Rockets home opener still flashes in front of my eyes. Spurs: It won't take long for the Spurs to realize how stupid they are to give up Scola, especially sending him to Houston. Yao and Scola will destroy their inside, both TD and Oberto foul out. Parker will see some rookie much quicker than him, and with some long range too. With Rick's offense pouring on, No longer best defense wins. So my prediction: 4W
I agree 3-2 but with losses to the Mavs and Spurs and the Jazz game is 50:50 Portland is a bunch of rookies and the Lakers got nothing cept Kobe again.
I hope they go 5-0 against these teams. I hope they go 15-0 and win it all!! But I am not the Wizard nor am I Coach A, nor am I an insider so I will just have to expect that things will be more exciting for us fans and we will enjoy all the entertainment throughout the season.
i agree with that, but thats what the preseason and practice are for. I belive these guys can play great together. Im optimistic for the Jazz and Mav game. Hopefully Scola wont dissapoint. Lets get our revenge on the Jazz.
Why just limit ourselves to 5 games? I can go and predict all 82 games in which we're gonna go 82-0. But realistically speaking I think we're gonna go 3-2. Losing to Jazz and Spurs. Jazz: The Jazz are pretty much the same team from last year and they click really well, while our team is still trying to figure each other out. I think collective team experience will be the factor here. Spurs: I don't think Scola will play a lot of minutes here and even if he will, he won't be a factor. Again, I think the first 10-15+ games are bonding time for us. We're pretty much a new team from top to bottom, so I'm not really looking for a huge winning percentage from this team during the first couple of games. One more thing.. If Tmac starts out the season like he did last season, then we're gonna go on a deeper hole. Possibly going something like 3-7 in our first 10. But he should be fine because he didn't have a season ridden by injuries the season before.
Man, this article is really stretching for something new to talk about. But since I'm at it... Oct 30 at Laker LOSE Nov 1 at Jazz LOSE Nov 3 vs Portland LOSE Nov 5 at Mavs LOSE Nov 6 vs Spurs LOSE
3-2 win the first 3, lose the last 2. early in the season the rockest will not be ready to beat the contenders. new coach, new starters, new rotation players... they need time to gel.
Tough starting games. I think it may take a short while for the new team to meet its full potential so 3-2, but after that we'll start rolling. If anyone remembers, last year both Dallas and Phoenix started the season pathetically.
A win against the lakers (because they're the Kobe's) A loss against Utah (2nd game we'll lose because we won't have the chemistry yet...and Utah is a tough place to play in) A win against Portland (I'm not buying the Oden hype...Yao will dominate his ass) A win against the Mavs (we always play them tight and with our added talent I think we'll beat them) A win against the Spurs (they never start off the season well)
2-3 We'll beat the Kobes and the Blazers, but I don't think we'll have the team chemistry yet to beat the Jazz, Spurs and Mavs.
Sorry but I have to say that Oden looks much older than Yao anyway, I reckon it will be 3-2, we lose to Jazz and Spurs
