Random question: What is your most precious material possession, and why? Mine is my digital keyboard. It looks and sounds beautiful. It was the first major purchase I ever made with my own money. I worked various jobs in high school and didn't spend a dime of it, except when I took my parents out to dinner with my first paycheck. I was planning on saving it up for something really special, but when I saw it on craigslist, I just HAD to have it. I begged my dad to drive me to Austin to buy it, so he took a Friday off and we took a day trip to Austin and bought it from a recording engineer there (who apparently worked on the Simpsons, Bevis and Butthead, King of the Hill, and a bunch of local radio commercials, which I thought was pretty cool). I've taken it on every gig in the last 4 years, and it never disappoints. Spoiler Aint she a beauty?
I'm assuming you mean objects that have sentimental value. For me it's my vintage Montblanc Meisterstuck 149 fountain pen that never leaves my study. It belonged to my grandfather and it's from the 1950s. Although many consider fountain pens to be annoying and antiquated and messy, that couldn't be further from the truth. Writing with a quality fountain pen is blissful. In fact, I use every excuse I can to use the thing because it makes ink on paper look like a work of art. And, with proper care they last a hundred years or more so the idea of passing it down to my children is also very appealing. It looks like the pic below
