Hou @ LA on Christmas with all the hype being about Kobe wanting to teach Dwight about winning. Joey Crawford will be the referee for sure.
Opening Week: Houston @ OKC New York @ Brooklyn Miami @ Indiana LAC @ GSW Christmas: New York @ Brooklyn San Antonio @ Miami Houston @ LAL
Most of you are missing what the OP asked in his thread title. Your ideal opening night header. Not what you think will actually happen.
doubt LA will be opener if Kobe is still out i figure Pacers @ Miami spurs @ rockets second night: knicks @ nets GS @ spurs
Since Miami has to be in the first game, it will probably be: 1) Chicago @ Miami I think Rose's return will be built up and what better way to gain ratings for the NBA than to have the two most recent MVP's go against each other. One fresh off another championship, the other returning for a season of redemption. The story line is just too great to pass up. If not that, it will probably be: 2) Indiana @ Miami 3) Brooklyn @ Miami <br> The second game will most likely feature a west coast team. I also think they would really want Dwight Howard to be on opening night since he was the big name of this year's free agency. But, keep in mind. Chris Paul was relevant too. For that reason I think the game will be: Rockets @ L.A. Clippers If not that, then some of the other Rockets featured games that everyone else has mentioned could come into play.
God, how could I forget about Chicago and Rose's return? Man! Miami vs Chicago or Brooklyn will be sick.
I last saw Miami and Spurs in a 7 game final, i don't want to see either of them on opening night. Rockets vs Mavs (I know Mavs aren't going to be a top team this season, but i like there roster, Ellis, Dirk and Calderon are going to be fun to watch. Plus there a rival and it would be nice to rub in how good we are now to Dallas) Clippers vs Warrios Or OKC vs Knicks
I can't wait until that first Rockets-Lakers rematch, so might as well have it on Opening Night. Heat-Nets then Rockets-Lakers would net some of the highest ratings TNT would probably ever see.
Nets @ Heat Spurs/OKC @ Rockets Although it will be fun seeing the Rockets bully the Lakers, but I would much rather have the Rox playing a difficult game against the current top dog in the west. Having say that, as long as the first game that rockets play is at home, I'm content.
Cant wait for the schedule to drop and see which national match-ups we get. Bulls @ BKN Houston @ GSW
