Galaga this was at Supertrack. i made to a million points. thinking i would be able to put my name on their for first place, the POS counter hit zeroes. when i finished the game, it was as if i never got the previous 999,999.
Mine is beating Time Crisis 2 (arcade) with my friend with both of us only using one continue. I know my worst too, I played through the entire Mario NES game and then did the last jump wrong before you get to Bowser and died and had to start over.
Was it Yunalesca? Cause she was a pain in the @$$. I don't really have a lot of accomplishments I guess, and I've been playing games for a long time. Earliest one was probably beating Seattle in Tecmo Bowl by triple digits (Bo Jackson/Marcus Allen on offense + Howie Long on defense = forget it). Beat the original Ninja Gaiden (last boss took me FOREVER to beat). More recently, I've beaten quite a few games, including Gears of War (on the hardest difficulty), Call of Duty 2 and 3 (on Veteran difficulty), Halo 2 on Legendary. Not really sure what qualifies as an "achievement".
Over 20 years ago, I was a maverick on the Commodore 64. One of the best games I owned was Sid Mier's Pirates and Defender of the Crown. My best achievments were actually taking over England and winning Defender of the Crown. It was awesome with the magestic music and awesome graphics (at the time). Very rewarding to win. I always enjoyed finding family members in Pirates. I own Pirates for the PC that came out a few years ago....but NOTHING compares to the old Commodore 64 version of Pirates. The Sega Genesis version was pretty outstanding also.
I think mine was beating the Raiden part of Metal Gear Solid on extreme difficulty. I couldn't beat Olga on the Snake half of the game so I gave up on that. The part with all the Metal Gears wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.
I thought about adding a similar thread the other day. I was playing Wii Bowling and rolled 6 straight strikes to open the game. I thought about a Wii Athletic Accomplishments thread. Greatest Video game accomplishment? Beating Civilization I in the stone age (with 7 countries). Took less than 20 minutes.
I just thought of one that had completely slipped my mind. In L.O.R.D. on one of the old Houston BBSes, I was the top player, and married Violet. I don't remember much else though.
I believe I posted this before, but one night, while extremely drunk, I got through the final three bosses on Metal Gear Solid on PSX on the highest difficulty level without taking a single hit of damage. It was like I had some sort of intoxicated superpowers.
beating wolfenstein with only a pistol. yeah, that's not really a story you can brag about too much, when you think about it.
I got past the dam, but couldn't beat the level with the Turtle Van and the stupid ropes to get across ceilings.
