My 80's funeral, Simple Minds - Don't you (forget about me) Pennywise - Bro Hymn To all my friends present past and beyond, especially those who weren’t with us too long, your life is the most precious thing we could lose. While you were here fun was never ending, laugh a minute was only the beginning, (*Insert my name here) this one’s for you. Ever get the feeling you can’t go on, just remember whose side it is that you’re on, you’ve got friends with you ’till the end. If you’re ever in a tough situation, we’ll be there with no hesitation, brotherhood’s our rule that cannot bend. When you’re feeling too close to the bottom, you know who it is you can count on, someone will pick you up again. We can conquer anything together, all of us are bonded forever, if you die I die that’s the way it is.
Something nice and upbeat, especially if I decide to pull one over on everybody and fake my own death.
I guess this one works, though it's also a good one to keep in mind while you're alive. Another Chance (The Georgia Satellites) livin' with my back against the wall nowhere but forward to fall well I close my eyes, somebody will catch my breath oh my lord let's get on board the ride's gonna scare me to death I don't wanna leave before my time is done don't wanna stick around when my race is run I don't wanna go before they call my dance don't wanna die asking for another chance come help me Poor Richard and won't you help me raise the glass here's to me and here's to you may our dreams all come to pass cruel trick of time, is played in the wink of an eye well heaven's above you don't need no shove the years go sailing by, oh I don't wanna leave before my time is done don't wanna stick around when my race is run I don't wanna go before they call my dance don't wanna die asking for another chance another game of chance a lifetime come and gone I guess it's up to me if I don't want to sing another man's song I wanna say what Grandma said, lying on her dying bed I ain't been cheated, no mistreated, and I don't have to say that yet, oh I don't wanna leave before my time is done don't wanna stick around when my race is run I don't wanna go before they call my dance don't wanna die asking for another chance another chance no not another chance no no another chance
I always figured, when I die they're gonna whip out the Lutheran hymnals and sing "Now Thank We All Our God" -- droxford
I've had this picked out for awhile now. Everytime I listen to this song I start feeling really emotional. It's an instrumental, no lyrics. nine inch nails - A Warm Place
I picked my song out in 1996. a demo track: Jimmy Eat World - "For Me This is Heaven" Clarity (even though slightly over-produced) was their last good album before they fell into the mainstream blackhole. It was really sad to see them unable to resist the plague of commercialism. i loved those guys. 'Static Prevails' was the best.
Tupac - 96 Bonnie and Clyde w00t. Well that's assuming I go out guns blazing in the retirement home like I plan to do.
"Heaven can wait" preformed by Meatloaf Heaven can wait And a band of angels wrapped up in my heart Will take me through the lonely night Through the cold of the day And I know I know Heaven can wait And all the gods come down here just to sing for me And the melody's gonna make me fly Without pain Without fear Give me all of your dreams And let me go along on your way Give me all of your prayers to sing And i'll turn the night into the skylight of day I got a taste of paradise I'm never gonna let it slip away I got a taste of paradise It's all I really need to make me stay -- Just like a child again Heaven can wait And all I got is time until the end of time I won't look back I won't look back Let the altars shine And I know that I've been released But I don't know to where And nobody's gonna tell me know And I don't really care No no no I got a taste of paradise That's all i really need to make me stay I got a taste of paradise If I had it any sooner you know You know I never would have run away from my home Heaven can wait And all I got is time until the end of time I won't look backr I won't look back Let the altars shine Heaven can wait Heaven can wait I won't look back I won't look back Let the altars shine Let the altars shine
I would like to have one side of the church listen to the former number one hip hop song " Whoop, There It Is!" while the other half listened to the number one hip hop song that immediately preceded it," WhooMp There It Is!" Hopefully, it will inspire a brawl. Just remembering a highpoint in music history.
Skynyrd, "Simple Man" Mama told me when I was young Come sit beside me, my only son And listen closely to what I say. And if you do this It will help you some sunny day. Take your time... Don't live too fast, Troubles will some and they will pass. Go find a woman and you'll find love, And don't forget son, There is someone up above. (Chorus) And be a simple kind of man. Be something you love and understand. Be a simple kind of man. Won't you do this for me son, If you can? Forget your lust for the rich man's gold All that you need is in your soul, And you can do this if you try. All that I want for you my son, Is to be satisfied. (Chorus) Boy, don't you worry... you'll find yourself. Follow you heart and nothing else. And you can do this if you try. All I want for you my son, Is to be satisfied.
