    The Van Halen 1984 show

My best friend has a simmilar ticket story. He lucked out at the Astrodome ticket lottery they had for this show and managed to get 4 front row tickets to the first Houston show of the 1984 Van Halen tour! Too bad we weren't friends then!

after seeing The Who on VH1's concert for New York, they may be past their prime but they were the best band at that concert.

I think they are still one of the best live bands around. I was so thrilled when Pete started playing electric again. Zak Starkey, the latest drummer, is their best post-Moon drummer, in my opinion. I would see them again if they were coming anywhere near here this Summer. Folks on the east and west coasts should take advantage.

Keeley...you will love the Who. I saw them here in Houston in August 2000 and they absolutely rocked. In all the times I'd seen the WHo in concert, I've never seen Townshend play guitar that well, and Zak Starkey is the perfect fit for them on drums. He plays like Keith Moon and does Moon-like fills but he does them with more control. It was a great show, and I'm sure you'll love it. Enjoy!!

Way back in '73 I saw Bette Midler, Cat Stevens, Henry Mancini, Bread, and Loggins & Messina.

The last music concert I went to was about 1982: I saw ZZ Top and Nils Lofgrin. No kidding. Snore.

I agree. I was at that show as well, and Daltry is in better shape than most men half his age! I know I was embarrassed.

That didn't stop me from taking off my shirt and screaming my head off in the August heat!

It didn't stop me from drinking too much and rolling head-first down the hill at Cynthia Mitchell Woods Pavilion, either! :D
