Based on "Nice Rollin's" prediction, I have come to the conclussion that we will end up with only the 5 wins we have now. So that means we are losing to the Browns. Thanks Nice Rollin.
Who had a Jags SWEEP and a W over the Colts though? Anyone? I'd say that's progress in the division. Lot's of "less-than-one-score" losses this year, too.
Wait, what??? 6 of our 10 losses have been by 15 points or more. That's right about where we were last season. More times than not, when we were beat we were beat soundly. I'm all for looking for the silver linings. We all felt much better after the Colts game, in particular. But let's not overstate it.
Four of those were in the first four losses of the season (and one was only 14) when we were playing absolutely terrible. I think having four losses under one score is encouraging and they look much better this year than last. Imagine if just two of those swung the other way like they realistically could have. We'd be going for win #8 which would put us in playoff contention in the NFC. Also, in case you didn't know, if my aunt had nuts, she'd be my uncle.
6 of our losses last year were by 1 score or less, so yeah, I'm not sure that means a lot. During the season last year, people were saying we should have been 5-11 or so too. But there is some definite progress on the defensive side of the ball. On offense, we're almost identical to last year. Last year, the team scored 260 pts. This year, 253 + Cleveland, so it will be in the same range. The defense, however, had dramatic improvement. Last year, it gave up 431 points. So far, this year, we're at 360. Granted, we could give up 71 pts to Cleveland, but assuming we don't, there's some progress there.
I think had our running game played the entire season like they did this last month, we'd see more tangible improvements on that side of the ball. I think they'll be improved next year with Spencer coming back and hopefully a new QB (or at least one that's actually won a starting position rather than it being handed to him). I think our defense will be pretty stout next season. They played so freaking terrible the six games outside of the Miami game.
This guy was pretty damn close on his predictions. We started out bad, Carr got benched in the Tenn game (if he had stayed on the bench we probably would have finished 8-8 with Sage). Ron Dayne did come in and was our #1 and surprised everyone. VY started the 5th game right? Or 6th, either way, very close prediction and VY did do decent, he had help from his RB, kicker, and defense, but he did very well. Mario was solid, but definitely was nothing special. Bush winning ROY won't happen, that should go to jones-drew, colston, or VY. But Bush did have a good year and his team is a possible super bowl contender. Great predictions, jgreen. Aren't you the one who also predicted the aggies would beat the horns?
