I posted that question right after the first FLAWLESS drive the Texans had. Now I have to change my question: I meant this post. Do you really think, after having the Eagles against the ropes, that it will really be 3 to 4 wins? Even with the brutal schedule, do you really think 3 to 4 wins will stand as your prediction?
Just thought some of y'all would want to see your predictions. Some of them were right on...or should be with a win over Cleveland. In all, it wasn't as bad as some thought it would be and it wasn't as good. Carr was pretty much as most of us thought...terrible. A win this Sunday and a 6-10 finish isn't all that bad. When you consider the injuries and the lack of production from the RB and QB spots for most of the season, it could have been worse. The confidence of finishing the season with a 2 game win streak...which includes beating Indy...will go along way (much like the season ending loss to Cleveland 2 years ago sent this team in to the downward spiral that was the 2005 season). Carr or no Carr, I believe this team is learning how to win and will be a much better team in 2007.
I think I predicted 8 wins (too lazy to look it up in the thread to be sure) but I did predict a win against the Colts last game.
Well, they did about as well as I thought they would. I thought between 5-7 wins would be about right. However, I wasn't expecting the injury bug to hit us quite so hard this year, so had they remained relatively healthy, they might have been closer to a .500 team. We won't really know anything about the future of this team until they get rid of Carr, though. Fortunately, I think we finally reached the breaking point there and we can see someone else behind center next season.
I'm dissapointed I never posted in this thread--I was saying 5-11 or 6-10 before the season starts. 6 wins would have been a pleasant surprise, and 7 or 8 would have been WAY beyond my expectations. The part I got WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY wrong, was I predicted a strong turnaround for David Carr.
Arguably I thought we would fare better against the NFC LEast and we should have. Instead of 0-4 we went 2-2 or 3-1, oh well! Should've been Philly-W, Wash-W, Dallas (arguably an L) and NYG-W after seeing what they did vs us, but could've lost it as well. That's still 8-8 without changing any other outcomes. BUT ... Yes, I drank some of the delusional koolaid but there were some games that we had no business losing. @Tenn and Buffalo. Shoulda, coulda, woulda ... If McNair is half the NFL franchise owner that he is the businessman, he only needs to look at the bottom line with Carr, he singlehandedly won zero games, he singlehandedly lost at least 3 games with his play. He got benched for his play and we completely abandoned our pathetic passing game in the entire second half of another game just so we can WIN the game! Do the right thing, Bob! DC needs a new address and the franchise as well as the fans, need a fresh start! Texans win on Sunday. There will be no oops on this one. We actually find a team out there on our schedule that sucks WAY worse than we do!
Eh, not bad. Not sure about the "playoffs in 2007" part anymore. But teams can turn it around in the NFL almost overnight, so you never know. Either way, I'm sure we'll be there in 2008.
I guess this means we will lose this Sunday. Anyways, I meant to say that Carr would not start in 2007.
