It's great. Best spring rolls in the city. Just watch out for all the homeless people in the parking lot.
I don't think so, Tim... http://www.brennanshouston.com/ http://www.greenrightnow.com/kabc/2...-food-by-bringing-chefs-and-farmers-together/
lol, my family gave our left overs one time to some homeless people there. We didn't really offer it to them, they just kinda took it?
Good Thread, by the way. If anyone ever gets the chance to go the the Monument Inn.. Please do so. All you can eat seafood for like 25 bucks... right off the water. It clearly blows any seafood place in Houston out of the water.. Trust me
I just went to Ruggles Green today. The fish tacos were a lot better than I was expecting and the sweet potato fries were above average.
Glad you liked it. I've been impressed with everything I've had there, so far. (although I have to make sure I specifically order my burger rare to get it the way I initially had it.)
but it will be back before the end of the year so that is a perfectly acceptable answer. i honestly couldn't select just one, but the bahn mi at les givrals is so damn fantastic i'll just say them. reef is really winning me over... been there a couple of times the past few weeks and have loved practically everything. plus i've been on a huge seafood kick lately.
I haven't lived in Houston since 2002, but here are the places I seek out when I come back for visits: Baba Yega's Ninfa's on Navigation Brother-in-Law's BBQ in North Shore Chuy's in Montrose Ragin' Cajun Fox Diner was a real favorite, but I think this place closed down. We used to live within walking distance of it on West Dallas near Allen parkway.
They got one BIG ASS sign out front saying that they are under construction and planning to open in the fall.
I did like it. I think I would definitely eat there again based on today. Shan got some macaroni and cheese stuff. She said it was good.
Chicken Kitchen Cafe Annie Grand Lux Lupe Tortillas Pink's, Collina's, and Gatti's (RIP inside the loop) for pizza. I could probably think of more.
I ate at Rainbow Lodge once, and that was one of the worst fine dining experiences in my life. I got a premium cut of meat that they did an atrocious job on the butchering. Nothing like a high-paid piece of grislted fat. The service was wretched, and the wine steward wasted half a bottle of champagne because she insisted on pouring and didn't have a clue how to do it. I would avoid that place at all costs. I'm not really up on all the new restaurants. I personally don't care much for Scott Tycer. I think he opened a new place after Aries shut down. Jason Gould, his former chef de cuisine, is a top notch guy and an immensely talented chef, who was running Gravitas.
Would someone PLEASE tell me which "bahn mi" is the best? I went there this week and ALL sandwiches there are called "Bahn Mi." I went with the BBQ pork and pate and neither I, nor my girl were impressed. The pork was tough and the pate was non-existent. And to boot, the vietnamese egg rolls weren't nearly as good as the one's at Hollywood Vietnamese.
