How can Boki gather 8 votes? I guess all those that vote for Boki are females, or she-males?

I don't know how many of the voters are Chinese. I am but I vote for Yao not because of he is Chinese but his personality and charm, of course his skill too.

I doubt it. It has much more to do with the fact that we don't have any kind of attachment to T-Mac yet. If Last year's roster was put up instead, Steve and Cat would get a pretty big chunk of the votes even though T-Mac is regarded as the better player. It takes time to build an affinity for a player, and T-Mac hasn't even played a game for us so it's perfectly understandable that he wouldn't get the nod yet. And frankly T-Mac is Yao's only real competition... since Badinae isn't an option. :p

If we do this vote again next offseason, after T-Mac kicks ass all year, then I think the results will be different.

I am a long time Rockets fan and have to say that I voted for Yao and, when I think about it, he has become my second favorite player that I've been able to watch during my life. I like his humility on and off of the court, and unlike a lot of the haters, I really do believe that he has the will and determination to win. While Yao certainly has had struggles adjusting to the NBA game, I *seriously* doubt that anyone here thought he'd be doing this well this soon in his career. I like the fact that, in the course of two seasons, Yao has made all of the people that said "oh, he is the next LaRue Martin" go "oh, well, he's the next Rik Smits" like that is some insult. Personally, I think Yao will show that he is a franchise player in the next couple of seasons and soon the haters will be saying "oh, well, it's not like he's gonna be the greatest of all time or anything."

Humility + Talent + Desire = VERY enjoyable player to watch and root for.

At this point in time, STEVE FRANCIS AND CUTTION MOBLEY!

Then Yao (so I chose him)

I'm sure T-Mac will become my favorite or 2nd favorite, but he hasn't done anything as a Rocket yet to earn my appreciation. I know he will, though.

You're right. It is pretty remarkable. When was the last time we had this kind of turnover in an offseason? Anyone know off the top of their head? The Barkley trade, maybe?

Hey, I wish the PG situation had played out a bit differently. (well, maybe a lot differently ;)) And I wanted us to get a younger, more mobile guy as a backup 5, but what CD has accomplished is incredible. If getting McGrady had been the only thing of significance this summer, I would have given him an A+. Getting rid of several players who couldn't seem to get off the bench, for one reason or another, and getting some quality replacements, assuming a couple of them still have something in the tank, is icing on the cake. That the TE was "cleaned and pressed", so we could use most of it for another year, is nothing short of brilliant. Just a killer offseason!

My favorite player right now? I can't make up my mind. I guess it will play out as the season progresses. JJ/Yao/Nachbar (for doing that number on Karla... reminds me of when Sir Charles slam-dunked Shaq. I just loved him after that), from last season. McGrady may top the list after he's played some games for us. Let's play some damn games!

    no... not a shemale.

just watching that clip over and over again in r2k's sig with boki pump faking kobe, dunking on malone, then pulling malone to the floor... well... it was pretty much like kicking malone in the nards... in a playoff game... on nat'l tv.

doing all of that proved that he's a jvg type of player and won't put up with just anything from anybody.

With Yao and T-Mac on the Rox, this may well be the year where I succumb to purchasing NBA season pass. I try not to think about it too much because I get a headache from the pure excitement.

My favorite player is that dude down on the end of the bench. I don't know his name yet but that last guy without a guaranteed contract, that guy with the highest hill to climb, that will be the guy I'll root for the most. If we don't have any non-roster invitees and this is the team they go with into training camp, Reece Gaines will be... that guy.
