Well, now that we have a new star player, and Yao did a terriffic job at the Olympics and is in terriffic shape, I think it's a valid question again...

Let's see who the fans prefer...

It's not about who's the best btw... This is the fan-favorite poll, meaning the player you like NOT the player who is best....

I can't make a choice between Yao and T-Mac. As of now, T-Mac is the mroe exciting player, but Yao's fundamental approach to the game is just as good to me.

Looks like we have a lot more Yao supporters. Just remember please that this poll is about who you like personally (for whatever reason) and not who is the best player on the team.

I vote for Boki because I know Yao would get a lot of votes already.
Even though he is like always on the bench, but I have liked him ever since he ... I can't even remember what he did.

    But, he gets my vote.

It's obvious that you forgot to put Malick Badiane in that poll...

Well, if Boki gets votes you'll never know. :p

i though you were talking about bball only... if both on and off court are considered, hands down, it has to be yao. the fact that he proudly represents his country whenever needed, the way he acts on and off the bball court, the charity work he's been doing, not to mention his humor, his occasional outburst ...
    yao's definitely my favorite.

I say Yao...he just loves the game more than anyone, but T-Mac is not far behind though.

Just looking at this reminded me of how much we've turned the roster over this offseason. We only have 3 legitimate rotation players returning (2 of them starters) in Yao, JJ and Taylor. We have 3 bench players (Boki, Padgett and Spoon) all of whom got sporadic minutes.

    That's pretty remarkable.

This is ridiculous. Looks like massive Shanghainese invasion on this board.

It is. We pretty much blew up the team. I got the feeling that JVG was willing to let go of just about anyone other than Yao and JJ.

All the more reason why training camp this year will be important. It will take some time for the team chemistry to come together.

Why is it ridiculous? I doubt that only Chinese people voted for Yao Ming. I don't think MadMax or I are from Shanghai, for instance...

    Yao for now. He's a good guy. T-mac hasn't earned anything.....yet.

If you vote for Charlie Ward I would have to question your sanity.

Agree. This is going to be a very interesting year, I really think CD/Les/JVG did a good job of putting together a very solid team:

    1. Yao/TMac is going to be the best 1-2 punch someday.

    2. We are a much deeper team, our bench has been totally revamped.

    3. We are now a veteran team. Howard/Ward/Sura/Jackson, these are all guys who have been in the league for a while.

Like you said, training camp will be important, but I think we have enough solid guys to get the wheels moving quickly, I hope.
