are some of those y'all just listed really heavy metal, or even hair metal? Anyway, this topic is just too good, so it calls for a top ten list: 10. High Enough - Damn Yankees 9. Love Bites - Def Leppard 8. Don't Know What You Got 'Til It's Gone - Cinderella 7. Send Me An Angel - Scorpions 6. November Rain - Guns'N'Roses 5. I Remember You - Skid Row 4. I'll See You In My Dreams - Giant 3. Nobody's Fool - Cinderella 2. Silent Lucidity - Queensryche 1. Every Rose Has Its Thorn - Poison
Then, for the sake of all the baby seals, don't watch VH1's "Forty Greatest Hair Metal Bands" show next time it comes on. (disclaimer: if VH1 and I happen to agree on something, it is merely a coincidence. Even if I do watch it to keep myself awake while grading papers. )
"Fade to Black" "Sweet Child in Time" (borderline ballad, slowish bits) and another vote for "Still Loving You"
Master of Puppets - Metallica Fade to Black - Metallica One - Metallica Seek and Destroy - Metallica ... But only because I can play all these songs on my guitar. OFF-TOPIC: any guitar players on this bbs? Nothing more exciting than knowing you can bust out any metallica riff/solo ever made!
NFB (dallabnikufesin) - Anthrax We fell in love at first sight I can't explain the feelings When I first saw you we were so happy A life of love sweet honey child But then I played the fool I never meant to hurt you Or sleep with your friends We reconciled we found ourselves Our love was meant to be Oh, baby can't you see You left me standing in the mud Crying to myself A heart so full of pain But we fell in love again This time forever True love prevails over all She got hit by a truck
True, but the song is considered a monster ballad, nonetheless as are these two: Boston - I wanna know what love is REO Speedwagon - Can't Fight this Feeling
I'm stuck between " Bridge Over Troubled Water" by Simon and Garfunkle, or " Fire and Rain" by James Taylor. Sorry for the disrespect...I know i should just respect each individual's taste, and I even like some HM ballads...but if any of you had to live through the 2 year period in the mid to late 80s where one after another every single hard rock band, GNR, Poison, etc. came out with a whiney ballad accompanied by a video about the grim, empty behind the scenes life of a rock star, the period surroundng Patience...and see them all shoot to the top of the charts and have to hear them played over and over until you had sympathy for postal workers...well, maybe then you'd understand my reactionism regarding this genre.
Does this qualify? Danzig Mother Tell your children not to walk my way Tell your children not to hear my words What they mean What they say Mother Mother Can you keep them in the dark for life Can you hide them from the waiting world Oh mother Father Gonna take your daughter out tonight Gonna show her my world Oh father Not about to see your light But if you wanna find hell with me I can show you what it's like Till you're bleeding Not about to see your light And if you wanna find hell with me I can show you what it's Mother Tell your children to hold my hand Tell your children not to understand Oh mother Father Do you wanna bang heads with me Do you wanna feel everything Oh father Not about to see your light And if you wanna find hell with me I can show you what it's like Till you're bleeding Not about to see your light And if you wanna find hell with me I can show you what it's Yea Not about to see your light But if you wanna find hell with me I can show you what it's like Till you're bleeding Not about to see your light And if you wanna find hell with me I can show you what it's like Wo-oh Mother Yea
