I never really had cereal as a kid. I'd have some toast with coffee.

    I loved Boo Berry!

This is funny/sad/weird: When I was a real little kid we were so broke How broke were you!?! My grandmother would cut the pictures of the characters off the the cereal boxes for us to play with. They'd last almost until the next box was empty...so we had tons of little torn up Boo Berry Ghost, Lucky the Leprechaun and Frenkenberries to play with...now that I think of it, that kinda SUCKED!

I would cut the little twinky cowboy out of the clear plastic twinky wrappers and play with it.

    What I usually ate:

    Rice Crispies
    Corn Flakes

    What I really wanted:

    Fruit Loops

What I made my mom buy for the toy, but left in the cupboard because it was too vile to eat:

    Shreddies.

I had to attach a photo, 'cause I really didn't think people would believe me. The cereal really did exist (for a very short period of time)

"The second bowl of Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs is always the best. The pleasure of the first bowl is diminished by the anticipation of future bowls. And by the end of the third bowl, I usually feel sick."
"Well, maybe if you didn't use chocolate milk..."

    anyone recognize that? :D

Sadly, I didn't get to eat too many of those sugar cereals as a kid. My mom tried to raise me on all the Chex cereals (eaten with milk, not just to make party mix), cornflakes, bran flakes ( ), Product 19, Grape Nuts and their Flake variety, Cheerios, etc. (Grape Nuts are neither grapes, nor nuts, nor edible, btw.) Eventually she allowed Frosted Mini-Wheats and Life cereals, which I finished growing up on. Those were considered to have a high enough nutrition-to-sugar ratio to be OK.

When I was away at camp and even in college, I finally got to learn the joys of Corn Pops and Frosted Flakes and (then-Sugar) Smacks and Lucky Charms. The forbidden fruit is always the best, I guess... I still eat those things. I have a huge box of Lucky Charms right now. Anyone else guilty of this? I usually use them for dessert or late-night snacks instead of breakfast, though.

I bought a box of Fruity Pebbles yesterday. I still love them as well as Lucky Charms, Sugar Crisps, Cap'n Crunch, Cocoa Puffs, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Apple Jacks. I know there are more but thats a good start.
