  4. Neither. Just resign Scola & Lowry, make a smart draft at # 14, and use MLE to sign a free agent.

I expect (and hope) that the Rockets acquire an impact center and fill the hole at backup SG that Jermaine Taylor is not talented enough to fill. Let me see, as I don my flame suit, I think we should sign FA Darko Milicic and draft Xavier Henry at #14.

Darko is a mobile big who can shoot and block shots as he proved with solid time at Minnesota. He would get the playing time he craves while Yao works his way into shape and then can split time with Yao to keep Yao healthy for the playoffs. Yao and Darko can give Bynum and Gasol fits when we play the Lakers while Scola and Hill make life miserable for Odom. The backcourt matchups then would be the problem.

Now, if we can work a deal with Minnesota for Darko (S&T) and the #6 for a package that would be appealing for them and not devastating to the Rockets, I would really be delighted.

    Expectations?

Why is there even a poll?

I want Morey to do what is best for the team, that is all.

If that involves getting a big name AND drafting high, I'm all for it.

If that involves doing nothing and sitting pat, well, Morey must see something I don't.

Where's the option for sign a big name and make a smart draft choice at #14? That seems likliest.

Anyone who chose the last option hasn't been paying attention. Management is intent on making a big move one way or the other this summer. It's likely to happen. It's clear that Morey wants the team to compete for a championship THIS YEAR, so don't expect them to stand pat or acquire piece that will pan out more than a year from now. Expect them to aquire players who will make an impact right away.

I think at this point pretty much every GM expects to compete for a ring. Take the Nets new GM for example ...
