Geez, y'all have to work on your pics...

So far, we've got a poster sized U2 pic, a pic of Zeppelin that looks like somebody went balistic with the paint eraser, a Steely Dan pic with no heads, and a pic of nothing...

I guess I got to go with Operation Ivy. I'm listening to their Ramones cover right now. I remember being really pissed when OPIVY broke up. Then I thought, it's punk, every member will have a new band in a couple of weeks and that just means, at the most, I will have four more bands to enjoy. Then I found out the singer, Jesse Michaels, was leaving the music scene to become a Buddhist monk. I didn't see that coming. He wasn't gone forever though. He popped up with a new band and release from time to time and I loved every one of them.

I guess I should say Jesse Michaels.........?

If there are any other OpIvy fans that don't have a lot of their songs here's a site with a lot of their songs for download. If you have never heard them live check out track 20, Unity, on "Lint Rides Again."

It was close. Tomorrow I'd probably vote for Jimi. Today, I'm voting for favorite band. According to Manny, Jimi and the Experience were a solo act. ;)

And I only saw Jimi four times... I saw the Elevators at the Love Street Light Circus more times than I can count. They were like the house band, and you laid on cushions on the floor, ten or 15 feet from them, and watched the light show, this beautiful blond hippie chick dancing on a platform. God, she was hot! I wish I could remember her name. Oh, and you could do anything in Love Street, except have sex. Well, I don't think you could have sex there, but who knows? People certainly made out. The smoke was so thick, you could cut it with a knife. And it smelled great.

    Madonna.

it's like that scene in Cheers where Sam tells Diane she can't be quiet for 10 seconds and you know she's not going to be able to (and she isn't). you knew Manny would be picking more than one.

This is a toughy for me. I was in cover bands for a while, and people would always associate my voice to a certain group.

But, for longevity's sake, my friends would probably say

    AC/DC.

And, no. I sound nothing like Scott or Johnson.

    Mott the Hoople

Some interesting picks here. I'm embarassed to say I have never heard a single Operation Ivy tune that I'm aware of. Guess I'll have to track them down at the local record store.

Smashing Pumpkins. Anyone who thinks they were soft has to pick up a copy of Gish.

That is because they only did like 1 album. They were on the verge of becoming big and then they disbanded because they didn't think they could handle it. 2 of their members went on to form Rancid (I think you have heard of them).;)
