My dad would randomly buy games and sometimes they sucked, but somehow we grew to like them.

Looking back, NES Play Action Football was not that great, but we played it a lot.

Star Tropics was a great game.

I'm suprised I haven't seen any love for Dragon Warrior.

A couple other games that I got into were Rygar, Tiger-Heli and Section-Z.

    NES-SNES
    9) Super Mario Bros 2
    8) Ghosts n Goblins
    7) Duck Tales
    6) Ikari Warriors
    5) Contra (those darn Konami games and the extra lives code)
    4) Tecmo Super Basketball
    3) Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers - Got it as a rental, didnt have money to rent it again...I had 50+ lives on the very last level....and it took until the LAST life with only 1 health left to finally beat it  It was maybe a top 20 game but me breaking a sweat finishing the game makes me remember it more
    2) Baseball Stars
    1) Anything involving Bo Jackson running past people or outgrappling people

Same here. NES is getting a bit "Atari-ish" like that, out with the "old"... :( Could hardly think of 10 actual good games I played. (I didnt play the popular games enough like Zelda, Metriod, Punch Out, etc.) with James the Nintendo Nerd confirming my suspicion that TMNT 1 SUCKED.

Man, I have been trying to remember the name of this game for years. I played the hell out of it when I was in high school. Definitely one of my favorite NES games.

This thread is awesome. It's bringing back a lot of fond memories of games I haven't thought about in well over a decade.

I forgot about that game. I got it free from Nintendo Power and spent pretty much my whole summer after 6th grade playing it. I've never been much into RPGs but that was a fun game.

I was like 3 when NES came out so I don't remember much other than Mario.

I have a SNES emulator in my computer and I still play Fire Emblem 4 & 5 (actually just a few hours ago), someone translated them. Damn those games are beast, how a real rpg should be like.

Reading through posts, forgot about Blades of Steel, solid fun video game hockey. & T&C Surf Design. Which spontaneously reminded me of
    - Skate or Die!

    - California Games - remembered having fun playing against friends, couldnt figure out the hackey sack though

    - Kings of the Beach - played this game alot. good ol' summertime fun.

    - Aladdin (SNES) - another fun Disney game. classic side scrolling platform action

    No Master Blaster?

Also surprised to see only one mention of Dragon Warrior. All of that series was fun.

I find it hilarious that some people are listing Bad Dudes. :D

I especially like how the front of the truck says Dudes and the president holding a burger at the end.

I was racking my brain trying to remember the name of that game last night. The graphics on it were awesome at the time (or so I thought). I never got to beat it.

    Karate Kid
    Defender of the Crown
    Mario 3
    Cabal
Flying Dragon - The Secret Scroll
    GI Joe
    Zelda

That's 11... 12 if you count the two Double Dragons.
