TMNT II (same as the arcade) I still remember the code to get 9 lives.. b, a, b, a, up, down, b, a, left, right, b, a, start
There was a code To think my dad and I had to beat it straight up. Thanks for telling me 15 years too late.
The 2nd is way better, but the first one was fun, though way too hard for me. I was very young playing those games. TMNT IV: Turtles in Time for SNES, owned them all.
Well I never had a NES, so I didn't play too many games on it, so I'll include some SNES games too. (in no order) 1) Super Mario Bros 2) Super Mario Bros 3 3) Contra 4) Excite Bike 5) Donkey Kong Country Trilogy 6) Super Star Wars Trilogy 7) Super Mario World 8) Super Mario Kart 9) Street Fighter II 10) Yoshi's Island
Yeah, there seem to be less NES users than I had originally thought. Well if people are going to post SNES games then I may as well post mine: 1A) Chrono Trigger 1B) Final Fantasy 3 3) Final Fantasy 2 4) Super Mario Kart 5) Legend of Zelda 6) NBA Jam - Tournament Edition Pugs
No particular order (and I'm sure I'm forgetting some). Super Mario 1, 3 Legend of Zelda Metroid Rygar Kid Icarus Excite Bike Punch Out Dragon Warrior (can't remember the number) Arkanoid
Ah, a topic near and dear to my heart. Here are my top ten: 1. Contra -- My favorite video game of all time. Can you go through this game without dying while getting no power-ups whatsoever, even rapid fire? I am the best Contra player this world has ever seen. 2. Bionic Commando -- Innovative and still fun to this day. Pi..Pi..Pi.. 3. Ninja Gaiden -- Damn hard, but damn fun and worth the occasional frustration. 4. Mike Tyson's Punch Out!! -- Still the best boxing game ever after all these years. 5. Mega Man 3 -- The best of the Mega Man series. 6. Faxanadu -- A personal favorite. One of the most underrated games of my lifetime. 7. Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link -- Great overall game. 8. Final Fantasy -- A trendy pick, but cannot deny its influence. 9. Super Mario Bros. 3 -- Can't deny that it is a great game. List would feel empty without it. 10. Metroid -- I spent much of my childhood wandering aimlessly through Kraid's Lair, enjoying the music. Honorable mentions: Duck Tales, Castlevania series, Double Dragon 2, Maniac Mansion, Super Spike V'Ball, Baseball Stars Notes: - Battletoads would have been up there, if the programmers didn't have such a personal vendetta against gamers. The rat race level is pretty much impossible. - Ninja Gaiden 2 sucks. I rank them NG1, NG3, big gap, then NG2. For the life of me, I don't know why most people see it as the best in the series. Boring story, frustrating non-fun level gimmicks and the ridiculous "ghost-ninjas" power-up. Terrible game. - River City Ransom is cool, but doesn't have much replay value. - I liked TMNT1 better than TMNT: The Arcade Game. It was more challenging and I'm a huge fan of old school platformers. I enjoyed playing TMNT2 in the actual arcade, though. - Double Dragon 2 is the best of that series, but DD1 has the best tunes. - Still haven't played Crystalis or Star Tropics yet. Heard they're awesome.
Duck Tales was God to me on NES. I was never much of a gamer (never had the patience to get past 8-2 consistently in Super Mario Bros.), but by Christ I played Duck Tales until Dracula Duck went DOWN. It's one of those games I could pick up today and still beat without losing a life. I also really liked Mario 2 and 3, but I never played them enough to beat either. Same with Double Dragon. In college, my roommate and I used to play Nintendo Pro Wrestling a lot, too... Starman's mystique is timeless. Bubble Bobble was another great time-waster.
River City Ransom Super Dodgeball Castlevania 3 Ultima 4 Tetris Ice Hockey Ninja Gaiden Bad Dudes Battletoads & Double Dragon Kirby
In no particular order: Super Tecmo Final Fantasy Wizardry series Dragon Warrior Series Adventure of Link Romance of the Three Kingdoms
1) Super Mario Bros. 3 2) TMNT II 3) Excitebike 4) RBI baseball 5) Double Dragon II 6) Contra 7) Mike Tyson's Punch Out 8) Megaman 9) Metroid 10) Double Dribble
I was trying to remember this game when I posted mine. I couldn't remember the name of it. I absolutely love this game.
Awesome game, but I never knew it was on NES too. I had it for SNES. It would have been near the top had I known.
yayayayayayayayaaaaaa also a mixture of nes and snes! honorable mention: chip n dales rescue rangers, ducktales 10)little nemo the dream master 9)megaman II 8)castlevania II(frustrating but i still loved it) 7)tecmo super bowl 6)mike tyson punch out 5)super metroid 4)legend of zelda: a link to the past 3)legend of zelda II 2)final fantasy III(final fantasy 6) 1)final fantasy II(final fantasy 4 also my favorite all time re-make on ds was fantastic!!!!)
1) Contra - Fadeaway that's mighty impressive, i don't know if i could beat the game without any powerups let alone not dying. the best I've done is 3 lives but with machine gun. 2) RBI baseball - me and my dad must have played this game a million times. 3)TMNT 2 - my favorite game as a kid was the arcade game and this was close. i still remember my mom buying this for me and i brought the instruction booklet to school to show my friends. it was huge. 4)Tecmo NBA basketball - You could put any guard up at the top of the screen and throw it in to a center for a dunk, virtually any time. great game though 5)Tecmo Bowl - nuff said. 6)Megaman 3 - I loved snakeman's powerup, amazing game. 7)Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers - great game with a friend, i loved how you could pick them up. 8)RC-Pro-am - easily the racing game i've played the most in my life. 9)Ninja Gaiden 2 - I like them all about the same but I always thought those little spirit things that fight next to you in 2 were sweet. 10)Mario 3 - you could freaking fly. maybe i should move this game up the list. honarable mention to a whole bunch more. outside of 1 and 2 I could make a whole new list tomorrow i'm sure. I had too many nes games.
