I'd really like to see the Rockets get Swift.

Frye is a decent player, but I don't know if he can play the center position... I mean he has a great mid-range jump shot, but he still lacks the interior post moves and inside game that all big men should have. He's not really athletic, he's more finesse... I don't think we'll be able to sign him for $500,000... even if we offer him something like a starting spot. sorry BimaThug ;)

Frye is not bad as a backup PF/C. He is soft but he does hit jumpers.

I think the Mavs are trying to trade Damp and keep Hollins. In any case, I don't think Hollins is starter material. At least not in the west.

This is a dang good point, as well as strategy, but it looks like it may not be enough, at least this early in FA. Morey tried it w/Gortat (but w/more money) and it did not work.

I'd rather sign d-leaguers than these flameouts

So you're going to stand them on top of one another to play center?

Great out of the box thinking, but I have a feeling it may not work. :D

i believe frye is a restricted free agent. the blazers would surely match a minimum offer.

Swift has potential, he just needs someone to push him to get it out of him.

Swift is going to be playing on the Celtics summer league team.

I like Sean Mays, but he needs to get into shape. Even if he's still big like Glen Davis.

I like Fyre also, however he will be dominated by other strong big men.

At least with Sean Mays, he won't be pushed around.

    Edit: May**

He's only 6'9 but so is David Lee and Glen Davis.

I'm glad we can start back focusing on the Rockets vs tracy and Yao. Its great to talk about what's good for the team. I like the notion of bringing back green if possible. Maybe give him a 2 yr minimum deal would be cool and back him up with a guy like Barnes or some other low level vet that is athletic and can play a little. Also at the center spot, a guy like Mihm and Mbenga could fill the role their. Mbenga would be the tough guy, shot blocker/rebounder. Mihm has injury history, but as a 24 mins guy that can block shots and rebound would also be cool. I still think moving scola, battier, and tracy should be top priorities. Maybe if someone either bosh or amare is traded, scola would be the fill in for those team and tracy would be the contract.

Frye is unrestricted, all of Portland's FAs are unrestricted.
