Eminem, has fallen off terribly, sadly I can only put up with his earlier music. Slim Shady LP, Marshall Mathers LP, Eminem show, & Encore was, eh, But he has never rapped about hoes, cars, money, big butts or whatever. He rapped reality in being poor and the bs going on in his life. The man made masterpieces, but has fallen off as of recent. :(

Lil Wayne has always Been terrible....

To OP, he sounds like a generic version of drake should be more himself.

He tried basketball.. He tried rap.

    Did he ever try education??

Its not too late, he should go back to school. Atleast he'll have a degree to fall back on.

    This.

He's got a long way to go. While I appreciate him not wanting to be a commercial rapper, his rhymes are really basic.

Check out Hyro da Hero (who is out of HTown). That guy has it, although he'll never be huge because he's not rapping about the usual crap. He's got some talent.

beat is wack...too much talking in the beginning...delivery is boring...lyrics are alright.

On another note, I'm sick of all this "thats not hip hop, this is REAL hip hop" talk. the reason I love hip hop is because its like a grocery store, there is something out there for everyone. There is hip hop for folks who like to dance and party, there is political hip hop, positive hip hop, Christian hip hop, there is hip hop for the corner boys selling drugs, and the list goes on and on. Sure, you don't have to like them all but pick what you like and stop b****ing! 20 years ago, if someone said that Hip Hop would be so mainstream, all over TV and media, while dominating the music charts, they'd be shot on the spot for saying such nonsense. Now, Hip Hop is EVERYWHERE. Its a beautiful thing. Embrace it.

You didn't read the original post too well bro, financial issues.

Lol @ those who think i'm Eric, i guess you can believe what ya want, i won't try to make a case as to why i'm not him. I'm glad there's a few of yall giving constructive criticism instead of just bashing his song, much appreciation.

i think its funny how everyone says, "not rapping about money, cars, sex, etc" broken record. who gives a f@ck, its all about the beat and the sound of the person and how they incorporate the beat with their voice. Nom sayin

im a rap artist myself who doesnt rap about the usual ca$h/money/hoes. i rap about real stuff like playing chess and how manly my beard is. here is my latest track, which i did after watching a law and order: svu marathon all day.

    http://www.mediafire.com/?2h5nohuqo2251tj

i did this at home - beat is fruity loops, live bass and keys. in case you were wondering, im from humble so thats why it sounds so crunk.

just try to be very creative with this kind of stuff. Nowdays people just get terrorised with different videos from youtube on places like facebook.

Your brother should try the "ads" feature on youtube. That means that he may show up on users "recommendations" etc. That may make your brother get noticed a little more!

One other thing is that he has to find a cool "story" to build on his image.

I think one way is to start look more proffessionel then the other "amateur" rappers you may see on the internet.

I appreciate a laidback delivery (and the beat kind of lends itself to it), but I think there's a fine line between laidback and boring. He needs to punch it up on a few of his lines, have a little crescendo or SOMETHING, where it's not just montonous word after after word.

I liked the first verse a lot better than the second. You say he's not rapping about money sex hos yet the second verse seemed to focus on that. Also, don't really think a minute and a half of instrumental is necessary, but that's just me.

Overall, it was ok, but he really doesn't stand out from the sea of "REAL hip hop" upcoming artists

Alright, i'll let him know about the ads feature, right now. Yeah, i agree. I mean, i've heard some more of his songs and he's not "boring" or "too calm" in them, like i said, he was asking for fan request and so i decided to get him to do a freestyle to the "I don't like the look of it" song by Lil Wayne and Gudda Gudda and he got hype while in the studio and everything, its nice to see haha. But yeah, anymore advice feel free to post in this thread, that post helped a bunch!

1: Like some have said, he needs more energy.
2: Scholarship = Free education. How did that lead to financial troubles?
3: Post a video with him showing more energy.
